Just a few points in the PS vs Prima debate, it's only my opinion so take them fwiw.
I've played a LOT of prima $0.50/1 with decent success (and lots of rakeback
) and have recently tried some PS and FTP and call me weird but I prefer PS and FTP and it's not even close.
The potential profitability is higher at prima for sure but for grinding I think PS and FTP are better for a couple of reasons.
1. Game selection. If you're going to play 8-10 tables, there is only a small window during peak hours at the good weekdays when you can have a fish at every table. At PS and FTP there are always good games to find and you never have to spend 30 minutes sitting through waitlists or try to start tables which takes a while on Prima due to the lower traffic.
2. The nature of the regs. The american regs are on average a bit more solid/better pokerplayers, yes. The scandi regs, while spewy, will hurt your winrate a lot more though imho. Especially when they sit at your left. No matter how spewy they are there really is no very profitable solution for countering one or two guys who are 3betting the **** out of you in position. Seat selection was key to my success but that meant cutting down on the amount of tables since the same guys are sitting at all the tables pretty much.
3. Shortstackers. Yes, some of them suck but that doesn't stop them from hurting the games and your winrate. Most of them don't lose allins either
4. Software. No freezes and timebanks magically dissappearing. Tableninja etc makes for a lot smoother multitabling. Stacking is an option and if you tile cards are actually visible at smaller table sizes.
And don't overestimate the rakeback, the difference in rake structure cuts away a chunk of the difference.
I've won at 2.5ptbb for half a million hands or so at prima $0.50/1 and my winrate is the same at the american sites and could be better if I gameselected more thoroughly. Add to that that you can play whenever you feel like it and have tons of tables available at the US sites.
Basically, if you're a very very good player, I think you can destroy the prima games for a bigger winrate since people are a bit more crazy/spewy and thus more exploitable. If your less than great and not very comfortable when people attack you, I don't think there's a big difference, if any.
I still think this challenge is ridicilous but that's because of silent_one's previous winrates playing a lot of tables, not because of how much harder the PS games are.
