I could see your reasoning, and there is not much exciting in the very north of Germany anyway. But there are only so few Danes (probably lack of reproductive skills caused by alcohol) so that the area is more than enough for this tiny civ. In fact we should probably dump some who we have no use for there.

There's a reason presidents/country leaders all over the world use Denmark as an example when they argue for reasons to make their country better. Every American president since Kennedy has used Denmark as a poster example of how a country should function.

Helmut Kohl, Gerhard Schröder did it, and A. Merkel did it recently.

Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair, G. Brown did it. Even Churchill did it.

We know how to make things work.

Also; Denmark is the only country that has Sammy, which in itself generates billions of kr pr/year just in extra tourists.

Never ever heard anyone say "we should do like the Germans, they got it right"
