The last 2 month have been absolutely crazy for me. I'll start in chronicle order to keep it simple (cliffs in the title for all those tl;dr).

Basically I play parlays in college football. Every week I stake a "buy-in" or two on 4-5 games with a smaller parlay that includes the same selections and a few more just for fun. If I win I increase the bets for the following week. I mean seriously, if you hit a 5-team parlay for $500 to win $10000+, you are not just going to bet $500 the following week. You are going to bet more obv.

I went 4-straight weeks hitting parlays. 4-teamers and 5-teamers and was betting more and more each week.

The first weekend of my epic run I don't remember the exact games but the final leg was the Patriots Over 50.5. They were facing a 3rd and short deep in Jets territory leading 27-21 at the 2-minute warning. If they get the 1st down the game is over. They instead get stopped and kick a FG to make it 30-21 and net me a sweet 9K

Next: 4-0 on a $1000 4-teamer and lost the smaller parlay with extra games: +$13,000 total

Next: Went 5-0 on main parlay, 6-0 on smaller parlay, lost the even smaller one with 7 games (6-1), still made about $66K.

That was more money that I had ever seen in my life already. But wait....

Next, I made these parlays risking about $11,000 total.

I win the first 2 games easy, get a miracle on the 3rd game (Three common legs complete) and take a bad beat on the 4th leg in the 4-teamer. BUT... for those of you that watched the Stanford game, you will agree that it was THE biggest miracle in the history of sports (or bad beat if you're on the other side). Stanford had to win by 8. Game was tied and they were driving, looking for a 3-point win. Luck throws a pick-6, then score a TD on the following drive and USC failed to get the game-winning FG before clock runs out. We are going to OT.

And the only way Stanford wins by 8 is:

-Stanford scores TD
-USC scores TD
-USC scores TD
-Stanford TD
-Stanford TD
-Stanford 2-pt conversion
-Stop USC

All of the above happened. USC got 21 yards on the first play down to the 4 yard line, got to the endzone on the next, FUMBLED the football!

Do you have any idea what that fumble represented? In 12 years of gambling, I had never had such a lucky break.

Playing 500NL was way out of my range of patience at this point in time. The past 4 weeks I have been dumping money left and right. Hero-shoving with air at the 2/5 buy-in after buy-in.

In the last 4 weeks now, I have lost back $115K of my winnings. I cannot even imagine, I had piles and piles of $100 bricks. Literally had $100K in cash sitting in front of me. It is now down to $60K ($50K of my downswing was the balance I left in my account).

I have run incredibly bad in the last 4 weeks after that Stanford miracle. Not only did I lose every single ****ing bet, I have not gone more than 5 minutes into a football or hockey game not drawing dead! Or - a game where I had the Under (in hockey) that would be 1-0 after 2 end up losing. Four last minute meaningless backdoor covers in football already in games where I was not drawing dead in the first 5 minutes.

I can post this here now without the "jinx" effect because I do not think I can run any worst.

Actually, I ran "insanely hot" at first, the incredible luck I had in winning that parlay (all the events + the fumble) was hotter than all of the previous luck combined but then the amount of bad luck I had after that pretty much cancels out the good luck I had.

The only reason I am still up is because I bet parlays (high return small risk). Though most of my losses came in betting straight games. 4 weeks, every single game/parlay I bet on was either dead in the first 5 minutes or a horrendous bad beat.

Bet the Over, scoreless (like the Packers game today). Bet the Under, and right away 3 goals and zero "refresh"s without a goal. Or in football, only incompletions or deep balls.

I cannot "stop betting" but I can slow down. What's ironic is when I hit that $66K, I immediately and comfortably layed $11K on two parlays "taking a shot" like I have all season. But now after winning 90K more and lost it back, I can't even get myself to put half of what I put in that spot last time on a parlay.

Let me just rephrase what I wrote in the OP...

That fumble in the endzone represented everything that I had lost over the past 12 years, all the bad beats, all the agony of seeing a team hit a backdoor touchdown to **** up a 6-team parlay, the agony of seeing holding calls after holding calls when I got the over, or that 5-run 8th innings when I had the under and it was 2-0 in the 8th for the final leg of a big parlay, all those drives to the casino, all those times of getting cleaned out, all the interest paid on credit cards due to gambling. EVERYTHING.

The total amount that I was down in gambling, interests, penalty fees and police tickets over the last 12 years had just turned into the same amount in the positive because of that one parlay in the link.

But after that losing streak, I am down maybe a few G's now.

So quit now unless you want to repeat your past all over again.
