In the last few months I've gone from clinically depressed and 12k in debt, to over ~160k cash, and a dream vacation with my ex fiance. All due to boxing/mma degen parlays and a tourney bink. Ill post proof and **** later. She wants to be back in a relationship right where we left off. But the sick thing is I dont really want help. Dont wanna live this life anymore either, shes a good woman. But I cant stop. Ive been in this position a dozen times over the years and every time im in in the clear its the time ill "smarten up," and "it'll be the last time."

Still there. Hate that thing. Reminds me of how much of a tool I am - complete busto but super sick car. Always get compliments...and it irks me. got hurt at work in 2014, was denied workers comp coverage so I bet 16k (CAD) on bet365 for Brewers to beat diamondbacks. Rationale was Brewers had best record at the time and Arizona the worst, didn't even check pitcher stats or injuries or anything. It was only like May 4 or 5 so 30 or so games into the season as well so not a lot to go on. I was at a motel at the time and checked updates on my phone, won the bet 8-5 or 8-3, thanks to Matt Garza which paid out $26,000 (10k net). This was all on credit with zero net worth so I was pretty happy. Anyway ended up losing several thousand online blackjack and poker over the next few weeks before going to the local casino with last $1000 out of the 10k I had won. They increased the limit to $1000/hand for me and made it up to $9700 but didn't stop because I wanted 10 even. Lost that eventually and I think I self banned myself from BC Casinos for the 2nd 3 year term. I have one worse story which is on an old forgotten account here from 7 years ago, but managed to come back from my gambling addiction of losing $75k plus over 5 years to now only losing a few hundred here and there on lotto tickets.

part of it was getting out of jobs which were so brutal that I felt like big scores were the only way I could get extended time off, mostly really bad labour jobs I used to do. Starting a landscaping business which has done well and provides enough money to feel like I am ok without trying to win money gambling.

I started going to the casino for the 1/3 game again, but leave all cards with my wife and only take 1 buy in for 100 bb.

Other than having a house and wife now which I can easily lose, the intense lows of losing 25% of a years salary in one night when it was barely enough to live on, was enough to tone it back a lot. Getting out of my 20s helped too.

I have a trip report on here from 7 years ago called trying not to bust this summer where I high hiked to Vegas from California after my truck broke down, and lost $30,000 (half of credit) after grinding for about a week at 2/5

Last night I decided to stop at the casino to gamble away the depression.

Cliffs:
Took out $500, lost it in like 30 minutes between Mississippi Stud and a really bad slot.

Took a second $500 withdrawal to $2,200 and would have been up $3,500 if I skipped Kronos and Zeus and one of those crummy Chinese pot'o'gold slots where I dumped probably $2k.

Did it work?

No amount of degeneracy will ever fill the void.
