So what, you usually post in the BB?

So Watson killed jeopArdy. What is o/u on computers "solving" nlhe. I'm pretty ignorant on ai but I'm thinking if manhour and computer power on the level of Watson was spent on hu lhe it would dominate the top players.. Ihatejuice et al.

I've already got scotch and weed happening, so I think the next logical step is to play call of duty black ops and pay $50 to charity every time I don't place in second or first place. Any better suggestions? listening to Yoshimi on repeat isn't getting old or anything but I will feel pretty unoriginal if it's midnight and I am still listening to the same song I was at 8:45.

Those were all streetfights or schoolyard fights. In martial arts training, I am undefeated at striking, and there are a lot of judo black belts I have beaten. I have also been beaten by a 12 year old girl at judo, but that was a while ago, and she was super-badass.

Captain R, yea I take it in turn on the BB. I am probably sit down at a full table less than half the time though. In fact I might play more midstakes short handed poker live than almost anyone anywhere.

Dude how do you get in that many fights without having like 6 brothers? I've been in one real fight and it was with my brother and i guess i lost due to a kick to the face (i didnt realize it was an all out fight until he stomped my face while I was on the ground). if you use a really liberal definition of fighting (shoving but no real punches thrown) then maybe 3.

Edit: also I've also been hit by a girlfriend before. Like for real hit and completely blind sided. Worst part was she never really apologized. So I guess my record is not so great.

I guess that's reasonable actually...

In other news im pretty sure I just made the worst fold ever directly after making a call where I might be good around one time in fifty. Overcompensation ftl

Playing $5-$60 spread. These asians r freaking insane. Close to 20k on the table and i am the best player at the table (imo)

This session (7hrs & running) has taught me more than any single session of my life. I am defanitely learning how NOT to play vs maniacs, as I watch them take chips and tilt the table.

I have never played so well for so long.

I LOVE POKER

I just saw the new player lose $ 1,300 in less than 15 minutes. It has not even been 1 full orbit yet.

Where in America do they have this game? Running Aces in MN, maybe? My memory of $4-$40 spread is that it was like a 20-40 LHE winrate with far less variance, but I probably just ran good until the game died.

Examples of hands you played well, or you were just a fish on a heater.

Daayum, Mitch. Why don't you just ask him if he still molests his kids?

Sheesh. Also he didn't say he played well, he said he's never played as well as he did that day. It's like, even if you upgrade from awful to mediocre for 7 hours, you can still say you've never played as well as you did at that point. Doesn't mean you're claiming to be Schneids.

Didnt mean to come off so harsh. I was trying to point at out that we all feel like geniuses when we are running hot.

I don't think I played 'well' last night per se, just better than the people I was playing against. (I did not burn $ nearly as much)

I started setting aside $ for calls that I should not have made (bad calls) and I tallied $255 last night.

I would not be suprised at all if I was the worst player itt but, I am constantly working on my game and improving and have faith that one day I will be a very good player.

Currently in my sessions, I am playing/played tight and did not/don't try to push real small edges. Instead I choose to forgo small edges that I may have and wait for better opportunities. I think as my bankroll grows and I get more confidence, I will push any edge that I perceive more.

Right now, I am focusing on not paying off passive players when they show aggression (being able to lay down a good hand) my emotional control, (playing A game as much as possible/keeping my big ego out of it) quitting well, (not playing too long/booking a win with my play starts to deteriorate)

MitchL, I know you are a waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better player than I am and if my memory serves me correctly you play for a living. If this is the case, I one day wish to do what you are doing. So, I am all ears to anything you have to say about me being a better player.

When I run good, it is because I'm a genius.

When I run bad it is because everyone sucks out on me and plays terrible, no change in genius status.
02-17-2011 , 03:05 PM
When I'm running hot, I'm thinking, "Jesus, this deck is running over me. And I can see the hate in the other players' eyes.... WTF, I really messed this hand up, what was I thinking? Good thing my two-outer hit on the river...."
02-17-2011 , 03:11 PM
it is hard for me to know when i am playing 'well' because the vast majority of the hands are so clear cut to me. i know more when i am playing bad than well.

how do you all know that you played a hand 'well' as opposed to playing it correctly ??

Sometimes on the river when I have the nuts I doublecheck or triplecheck my cards just to look fishy, and I almost always get paid off when they have top pair or better and usually raised when they have the second or third nuts. It's infallible and something most people won't do. That's playing a hand well.

If they start adjusting to the triplecheck I quadruplecheck and that's when I know I'm playing on expert level.
