Oh wow. I know Jesse. Looks like he's the short stack of the last 3. Gogogo. The PokerNews report said only that Seiver crippled DD by outdrawing his 87432 and that DD busted out the next hand.

He is The Sandman on my blog.

What is the drop for the 40/80 and 80/160 mix games at B?
06-05-2018 , 11:58 PM
Doesn't matter.

Time every half hour. $7 and $9 iirc

Most people just do time pot or time flops.

Not much better in life than this (skip to 2:22):

I just walked over and looked, it's $8 per half hour for 40/80 mix.

For holdem, 20 is $6, 40 is $7, and 80 is $9.

For a 9 player table I get 1.35, 0.78, and 0.51 big bets respectively.

Is the time pot typically the first hand with a flop? (That would be like crazy California collection rules at $6/12 or 8/16, except with good players and a substantial presence of non-choppers.) Or is there a minimum threshold?

Has anyone written about optimal strategy for time pots? Obviously very very tight, but at some point around the button it probably becomes chicken.

They do a time flop here for players that want it.
Any player can opt out by paying their own time.

The next time a flop is dealt, the window card determines which seat is responsible for paying time for all players that didn't opt out.

Busted MM, now playing 50/100 LHE at Rio?! Not sure why this is running but it's a good game

For you, the time charge has to seem almost a bargain.

Colorado power.

Lol, true story, $12/down is awesome

Oh, there's also food for your $24/hr, steak and salmon tonight, looks pretty good

Is this in the King's Room?

I'm still alive, with under 6 big bets, in day 2 of the $1500 right game. People who seem otherwise competent are astonishingly bad at limit hold'em. Checking down to pair like they're happy to get to showdown, for example.

Also got to meet DeathDonkey, one of the few poker figures I truly admire.

Saving a bet is worth more than gaining a bet in limit tournaments.

Completely different than cash games.

And winning bets from people folding too much to save bets is even better, which is why limit tournaments are awesome.

Anyway, yes there's a valid theoretical point but it's not like ICM distorts much on day 1 when it's not close to your case chips. People just don't understand hand values in LHE.
06-10-2018 , 05:46 PM
Lasted under half an hour.
06-10-2018 , 07:21 PM
Shoulda saved a bet.
06-10-2018 , 08:59 PM
Thanks.

I guess this is actually a sort of interesting theoretical debate in Omaha 8, the game where I got crippled. I'll post the particular hand against Matusow on the O8 forum soon.

Dude, nothing is better than busting the first level, if you're not going to cash. Why play some painful donkament for a day or day and a half only to bubble or something? Very efficient, sir. Nh

Yeah, but he played an entire day first. Close to the worst situation possible: bubbling.

Hopefully the cash games make up for it?
