I use SO daily and live it to death. There was already a So site for poker before (I think maybe the coding the wheel guy was behind it?) But it didn't really take off afaik... So much of poker is subjective that I don't really feel like it fits the SO model very well and is more suited to a traditional forum like 2p2.

I've been trying to find the app store rules for iOS development, but when I go to here: http://developer.apple.com/appstore/guidelines.html it won't let me read it until I join the developer program, which is $99. I don't really want to cough up $99 to see if my app idea will break the rules... Does anyone know of a different place or a cliffs notes of the rules somewhere I could read?

SO ftw, I basically learnt how to code in C# from it (I have a lot of questions

) The poker one will be interesting and look forward to its launch. I think it could work.

Playing with Mint Linux on an extra laptop and so far so good. The only gotcha was having to install it before I could update the drivers to let the wifi work on my Mac Book Pro, but that is pretty minor.

Great article, makes me sick that it was destroyed that way.

Probably see something like this soon, you cant stop technology, you can only hold it up for a while. Especially since google has the patent, they can do something similar. I doubt this wont ever happen.

Then Google revamped image search so you could find similar images - hover over an image and click similar on http://images.google.com/search?q=jaguar pick the car, badge or animal and you get a similar set of results.

Picking the badge and you end up with a few odd images like glasses and scissors.

You can upload an image to match against too.

Fun stuff.

Edit: Thinking about it, theres every possibility that Google actually bought the Troll because they'd tried to sue them. The timeline kinda fits.

If I make a website with drupal and use views so many different nodes can be displayed on one page depending on what filters the user chooses, do the google bots make their way through all of the nodes?

I have a site I'm trying to switch over from wordpress to drupal because the navigation with drupal would be 100 times more user friendly but I'm wondering how this will affect my search engine rankings. This site is just a pet project and hasn't made me huge sums of money but I still spent (wasted) a lot of time to show up on the 1st page of google for a few terms and would be pissed if I lost that. thx.

To be serious, the bots only observe information, not how it is coded that much. If you keep all your info intact with your urls, then you shouldn't have any issues afaik.

there's a guy at work who set up one of the conference room computers to switch to dvorak when you hit CTRL+SHIFT. i want to punch that dude every time my beautiful touch-typing turns into vowel-heavy welsh gibberish.

i've thought about going dvorak but for me, vi keybindings are the deal breaker.

It doesn't need to hit critical mass to be great for those who use it though - it's not like an OS or program that needs to be compatible with what others use. You can use any existing keyboard and just switch the setup - the keys won't match what's written on them, but that doesn't matter with touch anyway.

Yes, I definitely have. I even got so far as to get a dvorak teacher installed and did a few of the exercises.

Haven't gotten back to it tho. Definitely see where it would be a great improvement.

I've read that for most people it doesn't affect their qwerty at all?
