like two or three weeks before that he was arrested for disorderly conduct (argument with his sister lol)

he was also suspended a couple times over his three (four including redshirt) years. suspended for the first half of UGA game this year, didn't start the bowl game against wiscy - both for violation of "team rules"

2011 he was suspended and then reinstated for violation of team rules too.

believe he was suspended for a game or two that i'm not recalling as well

he's pretty sick though if he wasn't a colossal moron. he turned the wiscy game around himself by laying WOOD on the QB and knocking him out of the game. pretty sure he broke his collarbone.

i'm sure he will get a chance somewhere but he didn't do himself any favors at all.

He was always kind of eh to me. Again, better than some guys who got drafted that I saw although not many. Just didn't make much impact. His pass rush is just ehhhhh, everything is kind of the same. It's certainly a good udfa signing.

In other news if you are a Texans fan wondering who the hell Jeoffrey Pagan is that you drafted in the sixth round watch Greg Robinson on this play. Do you see #8. That's him. Hehe.

Oh dear.

I can see why teams would just be "no thanks" now. And that's only the public information, right? These teams vet players more than John McCain vets running mates. Sorry Republicans I couldn't resist.

Ball So Hard State receiver is named Willie Snead and I've documented my love at least once in the main thread via Keith Wenning (love this pick for Baltimore btw). Snead didn't run particularly fast at the combine but he knows how to get open in games. Not saying watch out HOF coming here but I think it's a lock he makes the team with so little receiving talent. Check out this game and he's #3. Also known as the guy Keith Wenning throws the ball to nearly every play. The Wenning to Snead connection I joked about being the new Peyton to Marvin. But seriously I like him and wish him best.

If anyone has some players they want me to give my personal opinion of let me know. I didn't watch all these games to keep it to myself.

Ah yeah completely forgot about Chaz. Good closing sped, another guy who needs to hit the weight room. A lot of those were picked or not today. I mean, you can't play with your hand down at 245 unless you are one of those ungodly rare players. Do you think he has any shot playing linebacker? I only saw one game so it's hard to tell. I assume if teams thought he could then he would've been drafted.

Hey Nath it's not that controversial to claim a CB that went in the first round roughly 20 spots after the first CB taken is the best CB in this draft. It might even be likely when you factor in all the off the field/character concerns that Roby had. Just saying.

the bills had an udfa deal with someone named deion belue, and apparently his agent took that deal to miami to get them to offer more. they did.

So the answer to my question was clearly "No." Let me help:

"Roby was drafted in the first round because his tape was good."
"How do you know his tape was good?"
"Because he was drafted in the first round."

See the problem?

Yeah I understand what you're saying but his tape is good. Not just because he was drafted in the first round. He jumps off the screen when I watch him. Just as gifted athletically as Gilbert but much more physical. He was drafted in the first round despite numerous off the field red flags because it's pretty obvious that he's elite. He should have been a top 10-15 pick.

Rofl, that's great.

Deion Belue was Alabama's #1 cover corner last year. I didn't take time to specifically watch him in detail but I saw so ****ing many Alabama games so many times through other players that I got a feel for Belue's game and he just seemed so solid back there. I guess without paying closer attention I can't say for certain. Looks like he missed several games last year. He's a little bit on the slight side and doubt he has the frame to bulk up.

Roby did not get drafted because of what he does in coverage on tape come on now. Like, obviously he didn't get burned every play. Mike Mayock said almost word for word "I love this kid, he can run, he can jump, and he doesn't know how to play football." Mike Mayock played defensive back in the NFL. If you think I am full of **** surely not him. Yeah, yeah, appeal to authority. Note that Mayock loved the pick. There's a reason for it. He plays his ass off. Roby hustles as much as anyone in the draft and I can prove it. He's a freakish athletic prospect with incredibly fluid hips and even has make up speed for when he misreads plays. As an athlete the only thing you would want more of if building a corner in the lab is that he be slightly taller (6'2" or so). All of this also applies to Anthony Barr and several other first round picks at their respective positions (Greg Robinson).

But this is why he was a first round pick, make no mistake. I would even show you some problems but I know you've already seen the tapes and have somehow convinced yourself nothing went wrong. I don't really get why you think he just has to have elite tape. It's not like he can't be a pro bowl corner because of any of this, every single one of his issues can be coached. If he were as good as you think then he would've been the first corner off the board, right? Why wasn't he?

The reason Roby fell is because of character issues. Elway even stated that is why he was still there when Denver drafted him.

It's really close between Roby and Gilbert though.

Has Texas ever not had a player drafted?

All of those other schools I am sure have but Texas wow. From a national championship not too long ago to this, for shame.

I couldn't believe they had a draft all the way back to then so I googled 1938 nfl draft and saw a familiar name ???

With the 4th pick of the 1938 NFL draft,

the Pittsburgh Pirates (later named Stealers)

select
Spoiler:
Byron "Whizzer" White

from the University of Colorado.

9/10 first round picks that year played "back".

Spoiler:
The name is memorable because he was a supreme court justice from 1962 to 1993. His wiki page has NFL stats next to supreme court stats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byron_White

49ers end up with Skov

They've apparently signed 7 UDFA despite having only 4 available roster spots, so we'll see how that works itself out

Have to imagine that they're shopping LaMichael James to Philly

From minimal research it seems like the Matt Hazel has some potential (WR from Coastal Carolina that was a round 6 pick for Miami). He doesn't have breakaway speed (ran a 4.46 40), but he seems to have good hands and gets a lot of missed tackles in the open field. You guys are much more up to speed on all of these guys though so I'm curious what the opinion here is.

Carolina Panthers UDFA signings

Corey Brown, WR, Ohio State, 5'11" 174, 4.51 at combine with 33" vert,

Jared Wheeler, OL, Miami

Carrington Byndom, CB, Texas, 5'11" 180, 4.35 at pro day, supposedly strong character off the field but his weakness is basically everything on the football field

Marcus Lucas, WR, Missouri, 6'4" 218, 4.60 at combine with 36" vert, 20 reps on bench

Denicos Allen, LB, Michigan State

David Foucalt, OL, Montreal

Shaq Rowell, DL, West Virginia

Andrew Norwell, OL, Ohio State

Darrin Reaves, RB, UAB, 5'7" 209, entered draft after junior season when he claimed a 4th round grade from the NFL Advisory Board (whoops!), 4.54 at pro day with 20 reps on bench and a 39.5" vertical

wasn't here after the first several picks so in summary

feels like there's going to be end up being at least a few solid players after where the bears went AIDS/AIDS aka QB/Punter in the sixth. (and quite a few names available some names were guys I would've rather picked than a punter, canadian dude, storm, even mccullers who probably would've fit in best with houston just taking up as much space as possible off the actual talented players) but total AIDS balls. Such WOAT drafting.

Houston ended up passing on Bridgewater so they could take Tom Savage later. HAHAHAHAHAHA. (hmmm why didn't I think of the rob johnson comp before)

wait shelby harris got drafted by oak. Dude was kicked off wisconsin (pretty sure it b/c of him and a friend beating up a drug dealer) and something about a DUI on a scooter and he then got kicked off illinois state. Didn't play at all last season (so why is colt lylerla not drafted?) what position is even playing? he was an offensive tackle at one point. (I'm presuming defensive but yeesh) I know 7th rounders but come on.
