Check that, it can no longer be Canada, who just managed to lose to Cuba.

So they need to not lose to T&T to qualify for the playoff then beat one of Honduras or El Salvador to qualify for the WC?

Game against T&T is pretty meaningless. T&T would need to win by 5 to qualify for the playoff.

Edit: beating T&T does kinda matter if Panama beats Guatemala, because then US would likely face El Salvador instead of Honduras, which I suppose would be the preferred opponent.

Looks like if we lose to T&T they go through on head to head results. Hopefully not an issue.

good enough performance given garbage field, they were much better than T&T, just didn't quite finish a few chances(one cleared off line etc)

If you've been jonesing for a team usa match that means even a little bit, this Saturday's match against Él Salvador is a U20 WC eliminator.

I'm surprised to see Yedlin named to the roster for the Chile & Panama friendlies.

It's not too crazy. He's not needed for them right now and JK has pull at Tottenham. Yedlin's chances of factoring in for Spurs this season is pretty low anyway. The hope is more for next season and beyond. Hopefully he gets a few sub looks if spots open through injury or he trains well.

This game being on a channel no one has is highly annoying.

1-0 US, could be 2 or 3 already. El Salvador is awful. Horrible field and a few bad touches is all that has kept it from being worse.

Good to see the U-20s go through, but Tab's going to have to call in a different group of guys if they're going to do anything in the WC. Too many 2nd forwards trying to play somewhere else (usually the wing) where they just aren't that good.

Rumor has it (from Ives and the usual suspects covering the team) this camp has been a lot of Jurgen tinkering with 3-5-2 and we could see it tonight against Chile.

Interesting. Looking at the player pool it does make some sense. A couple of guys perfectly suited for wingback roles (probably more suited for wingback roles than true fullbacks).

Jones makes sense as one of three centerbacks, and we obviously don't have two great CB's anyway. Decent depth in central midfield.

I dunno, I kind of hope he tries it.

Lineup is somewhat as expected. Maybe Brek will be good? Nah. Think we are winning this game though.

0% chance Brek actually plays anything resembling a wing back.

Good luck and Godspeed, Besler. That left side defensive cover for you is weaaaaaak.

Lineup begs for Bedoya but he's one of our only players who is actually making it in Europe right now
