I'm bitching because there was no possible other result and sticking rigidly to a "system" regardless of personnel is bad coaching.

What exactly will Kljestan do differently against Canada? Will he suddenly stop dribbling into culdesacs and no longer pass the ball to guys in the other shirts?

Well, it isn't a normal friendly, it is the last match before a big tournament. So it is a little more relevant.

If you wanted a game to get you geared up for a tournament, picking Spain as an opponent was exactly the smartest thing to do now was it.

You could have just went on a big long run.

Serious question time.

Are you guys taking a full strength side to this tournament? (disregarding long term injuries)

Oh and how strong is this side you have out tonight?

I think we're taking basically our full side to the GC (minus Holden and Kyle Chandler)

Aside from Howard possibly 4 of the other players who started today will be first choice, and no more than one of the MF players.

The gold cup squad is the full strength squad.

Tonight's team was a mixture of A team and B team players. And of course Donovan, the team's best player, was out with illness.

I would tend to agree with that statement. However, every time Bradley has tried something other than the 442 it has been terrible. It was the 442 that beat Spain *with better players* as well.

for christ sake, take a shot.

my god, anytime i come across a US game, the immediate thing i take from it is the lack of any type of finish when we actually DO get the ball anywhere near the box. do we have anyone that can actually take a shot?

seriously, if u asked anybody who just happened to turn on ANY U.S. game and actually watch the whole thing (even if they had never watched a match in their whole life) and asked them of the 4, which looks the worst (goalkeeper, defense, midfield, or offense), at least 95/100 would say its offense

and how long have you been waiting to say that Ian, probably the whole ****ing game havent you. i can just picture him saying that over and over in the mirror "It is no shame to lose to Spain"

Juan Aguedelo, who played the first hour or so and basically never saw the ball.

Tonight's starting strikers, Altidore and Agudelo are 21 and 18 respectively. Both are considered good prospects. Both played poorly tonight though and Altidore especially has been pretty inconsistent over the past few years.

David Villa only has 6 less international goals than the 17 players who played for the US tonight combined.
