Paços de Ferreira finished in the third Champions League spot. Has anyone even heard of that team?
Barton was so key they didn't bother to retain him on another loan.

Pacos is a fluke once in a decade rise to the 3rd spot and probably has a starting lineup that combined makes what Dempsey makes. So ok, playing there would be like playing for a Scandi team, sure he'd be in the lineup.

Lets stick to the usual big teams who would pay his wages (at least his Fulham wages): Benfica, Porto, PSG and Lyon

He'd be hard pressed for any of them. Maybe Lyon, but again, they'd find someone 90% as good for less than 1/2 the wages.

lol, bringing wages in is shifting the goalposts massively

bringing up Pacos is also shifting the goalposts.

When someone who plays in England says they have "Champions League" aspirations, it's not to go play with a bunch of 19 year olds at Pacos.

Mp, we don't know the situation regarding why Barton did not extend his stay in France. Could be down to a number of reasons, which is irrelevant as we would only be speculating. The fact is, he started most of their games when fit last season, and the general consensus was that his performances were very satisfactory.
Regarding Portugal, i'm pretty sure he would not only start, but be a key player for both Porto/Sporting?Benfica. And then if you look at a team like Braga, he would most likely be their best player.

You are probably right re his wages. That combined with a bunch of other factors such as age etc, which count against him are most likely the reasons why he is unable to find another top CL side to play for. But on pure ability alone, he is clearly good enough for many of the sides you have mentioned imo.

Even if you add Portugal and France to the 4 main leagues, he still wouldn't start for any of those teams.
is it?

Agudelo signs a pre-contract with Stoke City, effective Jan 1. According to SBI they may pay "a modest fee" to get him over sooner, but that's where he'll be this season.

Cameron, Edu, Brek and Agudelo so far.

The new Rangers! Maybe they'll grab a US goalie soon.

Three B teamers and a D teamer. On an EPL team. Eschewing talent and just trying to instill as much American WIM as possible?

Geoff Cameron is not a B teamer.

I don't think he starts over Jones. He's a fringe utility guy that can fill in at a lot of positions effectively but he's had one really good game and a few decent ones. I'm waiting to crown him.

I don't know if he will or should start either, but he is absolutely a better player than at least two of the players we presently start. Just feel like saying he's a B teamer seems off. He's probably one of the 11 best American soccer players. I think he plays RB vs Costa Rica next month.

Point is those Americans are like #10, 14, and 17 or so as far as "best Americans", and yet they're in the Prem. Just weird.

Brooks scored in his Bundesliga debut! In fact, technically it was the game winner, though they won 6-1. Lichaj also went 90 again and Nottingham is 2-0.
