It's August 10th...

I doubt both teams will have full squads, but probably mostly.

Not all that surprising tbh. Not a bad tenure for Bradley, nice work all in all.

I would be furious if we replaced Bradley with kreis. Yeah he's been great so far in mls, but its time to take this coaching position up a big notch.

RSL coach. Seems to be a very very good coach, but only been coaching 4 years. Not saying that means he can't do it, but he better have interviewed his ass off if that's the case.

If I'm picking an MLS coach, I'm going Piotr Nowak from Philadelphia or maybe Dom Kinnear from Houston first.

No way they made this move without having the other guy already agreed to terms though, so I doubt he's coming out of MLS.

I would like to see J.Klinsman or some European coach come in and manage this team.

Hiring an MLS coach is a huuuge mistake. that's like hiring a JV basketball coach of 3 years to be at the helm of a big time DIV I school

Hopefully that is true, and they went the Pia Sundhage-esque route. Ancelotti and Benitez are pipe dreams, plus they've never managed national teams, but I dunno who else would be a credible, attention-grabbing candidate. Too bad Bielsa got snapped up recently.

Does Rossi come with him?

Well, gl bradley... hopefully we didn't make this move without someone lined up.

There's no way Rossi could still play for us right?

It's an interesting possibility. A positive is that he is tactically 1000x better than Bradley and of course, having a former WC winning manager would be pretty sick if for nothing else except for increased prestige.

Except Lippi was crucified in Italy for refusing to play younger players and it would be a shame for guys like Bedoya, Chandler, and Lichaj to stall their NT development because of Lippi's preference for the old guard (dear god, it scares me that he's the type to reward "veteran leadership" and bring back DeMarcus Beasley to the USMNT).

Meh, the quality of Italian veterans are so much higher than the quality of the US vets. The US vets don't command the same respect.

Yeah, the "Oh my God, he stayed with guys for too long who won him a World Cup and start for top-5 Serie A teams!" doesn't quite have the same ring as "Why the hell is Bornstein playing when he can't even start for Chivas USA!?"

I think it is more about an allegiance to players who he coached to a WC than anything else.

We better upgrade significantly or USSoccer is even stupider than I thought.

I'm fine with it as long as we bring in a legit coach. There's no one in MLS that's better than Bradley right now.

I hope Bradley gets the European job in a decent league he's been hoping for. Even getting a job in the Championship would be good for him. Say what you will about him (I like him and think he's a good coach, but obviously he has flaws) but he won at Princeton, won everywhere in the MLS, and then had a solid run with the USMNT. He deserves a shot somewhere imo.

He should have left after the WC for a job in Europe.

Would have posted this about word for word so just quoting. Will be sadfacing if we just sign an MLS coach who won't likely be any improvement.

Grant Wahl quoting a U.S. soccer insider: "You're not going to be surprised" by identity of new coach.

If the hire's been made already, sounds like Klinsmann to me.
