I went with the Outlaws in 2014 and while parts of it were a nightmare (the trip to Manaus was lolbad) it was nice to have travel agents take care of getting us all in one hotel where we could basically party together for two weeks and be shuttled off to matches.

If you do go, make sure you attend the pre-match parties and generally hang around and meet the other teams' fans. One good thing about Qatar is that since it's so small the local block parties will probably be completely lit. And this is FIFA so I guarantee there will be plenty of alcohol available at all FIFA-sponsored functions.
I don't mind paying $150 or whatever a ticket, but how the hell is Qatar gonna manage having every single teams' fans in a small area? Hotel prices would have to be insane, no?

Other than that seems like it would be hella fun with the parties and such and could probably see a couple different teams I'm interested in.

He is so good out wide though. But you're right in saying Reyna probably takes that spot back. I'm good with Weah at 9 over Pepi or whoever else but also don't think we get the best out of him there

Qatar a lock to be the worst world cup experience wise in history for fans.

Probably, but if it's relatively cheap it still might be worth it. Really nice centrally-located AirBNBs for those dates can be had for like $100-140/night. But I wonder if you book now if those eventually just get canceled by the hosts assuming maybe they don't realize the gravity of those dates yet.

Disagree - Canada is in great shape, and seem more likely to finish top of the group then to finish 4th. They are only 1 point off the lead, and their two toughest road games (v. US and Mexico) are already behind them.

if we could book Pep Guardiola for a few consulting sessions on how to play a strikerless lineup I’d love to see it, but otherwise I think we kind of need Pepi’s size and hold-up play.

I don’t even think he was all that bad last night, he certainly was far from clinical in the box but he did draw a decent amount of attention and opened things up on the wings.

Weah has to be out wide, he's also a great passer. Aaronson is the ideal super sub with a fully fit Puli at LW. Would keep Pepi up top, find some way to rotate Reyna in with Weah or play him more centrally rotating with Musah? Too many good players now

Odds are the quality of the game will not be great. It will be the soccer equivalent of a late Jan game in Foxborough

Berhalter's quote about not having a lineup yet because he wants to see the condition of the pitch first just has me besides myself. Preparing for the MLS All-Stars. Kellyn Acosta definitely getting the start

watching mexico trying to ice skate out on the pitch vs. a frenzied crowd should be quite entertaining.

tv ratings

usa/mexico: 2.9 million univision, 1.3 million espn2

canada/costa rica: 713k sportsnet
which was apparently ~double the previous game
could go higher tomorrow vs mex with nothing else much going on

Given that Canada/Costa Rica have like 7% of the population of US/Mexico, I'd say they killed it.

Yeah I'm expecting something like:

------------------Turner-------------------

-----Cannon--McK--Zim--A. Rob----

---------------- Adams -------------------

----------Musah -- Acosta--------------

Arriola --------- Pepi -------- Aaronson

Also have to remember that the Jamaica pitch has a reputation for being uniquely poor every time we play there. Always hard, fast, and bumpy with an inexplicable amount of give way in just about every important situation. It's not going to be set to allow for technique to win the day.
