Panama has an easy match next too. They'll prob be on 14. Mexico could be tied 3rd if Canada takes care of business.

lol Fossilkid, you can’t be serious. We would be idiots to ask for Tata’s head? The guy has lost to the US 3 times over the last 6 months. that simply cannot ever happen. Media has given him a pass throughout his cycle (unlike previous managers like Osorio) and have let him work without ever feeling the hot seat. Tata isn’t anything special, we need to stop pretending like he is.

I just never want to see Paul Arriola, Sebastian Lleget, Kellyn Acosta or whatever that FC Dallas thing was who came on ever again and I'll be happy. It's not hard Gregg. You have an abundance of legitimate talent with a couple World Class players. Just ****ing play your best players and let McKennie get his dick wet

Tranquilo wey

I'm just saying Tata out doesn't change anything, realistically he's done pretty well even being joint top of the group at this point. You're trotting out the corpse of Hermoso Herrera, Chaka, Gallardo, Roma, etc. and the bench looks pretty barren as well.

Best hope is that the front 3 finds some form by next year, get an easy WC group and you'll probably get your cuarto partido again.

I hate to be the one to tell you but unlike USMNT the manager isn't the problem. Your team is dog **** and the worst Mexican team in a really long time.

Asked right before the Pulisic goal but where is that guy who bossed the Gold Cup for Mexico? Plays in La Liga, Betis I think. He walks into this side tonight

Mikel Antonio is a top 10 striker itw on current form. I fear Gregg goes MLS heavy in Jamaica. They're bad and we should beat them, and it doesn't have the total CONCACAFness of the the CONCACAF away game, but I need to see it

Has anyone seriously looked into WC tickets? How will it even work logistically? I'm guessing it'll be a nightmare b/c you'll basically have every country's fans in the same city. So you'll probably end up paying $500/night for a 1 star hotel 20km outside the city. I'll prob be living in E. Europe at that time and would only be a short nonstop from Qatar, so I'm debating it.

I think you have a pretty clear view of who will qualify, but canada/Panama might still be in a fight for who has to be in a playoff.

This one is a big no thanks from me. And I love traveling to the weirdest most off the radar places. Just zero interest in going to Qatar for this. I think it's gonna be a shitshow

Campbell was never good, don't think he ever had even a 6/10 game for Arsenal or the litany of teams he got loaned too

We sure Mexico is better than Canada? I'm not.

Are we sure we can get it done in the CONCACAF aways? Are we sure Gregg won't go back to playing MLS guys?

Yea they need that dude.

Ha! I was watching Alavez a few weeks ago and saw my man MiazGAWD and did a double take. Had no idea he was still relevant. Thought he'd be on like Inter Miami FC by now

He hasn't really gotten the minutes with Betis even when healthy, but even still, I'd select him if only as a 20 minute super sub for Mexico.

Might sound ridiculous, but I think the 2nd half was the best half any USMNT has ever played. It was just beautiful football. Great pressing. Great calm possession. Effective attacking. In a US shirt, I've never seen a better match from: McKennie, A. Robinson, Weah, & Zimmerman. Many others were near their best too.

Only other half I can think of that is better is a Confederations Cup match that I don't even remember the opponent right now(Brazil, Spain?) where they were down like 2-0 and came back and won 3-2 (I think?!?!?)

Canada has outplayed Mexico twice this year and if they get 3 points next week they're pretty much in, but 0 draws them back in

That Confederations Cup was the best wins we've had but we were also dominated for good portions of those games, understandably given the competition. Those games were ****ing awesome though.

Tonight was a collection of the best players we've ever had playing for USMNT together at one time, on the field together without any bad players (Yedlin maybe but he wasn't like WOAT levels tonight) on the field to mess things up. It's so simple. And to think we were missing Dest and Reyna too. This team has so much promise. Just need to play the guys who are actually good and completely forget about the Arriolas, Acostas, Llegets and the rest of the MLS All-Stars who haven't shown by now they're capable (Pepi though I don't think he's anything close to nailed on first choice and I'm not convinced he's actually good, Robinson) and/or fill positions of need (CB)

I'm gonna be hammering Canada to win that one. Think the line will show too much respect to Mexico. Think Canada is simply better for 1, plus at home, plus at home in arctic temperatures. Would be disappointed with anything other than 3 points if I'm Canada, especially after watching tonight

Weah's played some 9 for Lille, I say F it and just go Puli-Weah-Reyna up top. None of the other 9s have shown enough to make me think they're can't miss starters.

Hoppe maybe

Weah was good in possession just behind the front-most players

World Cup match tickets are usually done via some awful antiquated ticket lottery, but the good news is they aren't all that expensive. I want to say they were like $125 a ticket. And good seats are never available because all the good seats are crony FIFA/sponsor seats where people don't even really show up. I went with the Outlaws in 2014 and while parts of it were a nightmare (the trip to Manaus was lolbad) it was nice to have travel agents take care of getting us all in one hotel where we could basically party together for two weeks and be shuttled off to matches.

If you do go, make sure you attend the pre-match parties and generally hang around and meet the other teams' fans. One good thing about Qatar is that since it's so small the local block parties will probably be completely lit. And this is FIFA so I guarantee there will be plenty of alcohol available at all FIFA-sponsored functions.

Yeah... about the Confederations Cup, I'm remembering the comeback and not being dominated. I actually just looked up the results on Wikipedia and I remember pretty much nothing correctly while getting some gist.

Pepi was weak tonight. However, I don't see anyone that can play 9 like he does and if he is not 1st choice it requires a different approach... and you then would have to trust Berhalter with that.

One thing that was so different tonight in the 2nd half, was that against a quality opponent, I felt comfortable when 9 of the 10 outfield players had the ball. I trusted their decisions and I was not feeling an impulse for them to get rid of it anytime a certain player touched the ball. Maybe this is a low bar. But that's the first for me. FWIW, the one outfield player that made me nervous was Zimmerman who still was absolutely stellar tonight.
