Not really. Wage bill is a much better measure of where a squad should be than gross spend.

We've spent over a billion since 1990, dont need a masters to see that it would be pretty ridiculous to suggest our 2019 squad should be a 'billion pounds better' than our 1990.

Any Liverpool fan that changed their opinion of him based on a standard celebration after scoring needs their head examined.

Anyway MAGICAL ANFIELD NIGHTS is real, dont know why its controversial.

If you believe that the crowd is a factor in home advantage then it surely follows that, whatever the crowd does to cause the advantage, can be turned up to eleven.

Liverpool has a much more complete team than Barca

Lest we forget Ajax failed to get beyond the qualifying rounds of either the CL or EL last season, losing to Nice and Rosenborg respectively.

If you need further evidence, England got to the WC semi-final and played Croatia.

Yes and from that it follows that if magical anfield nights are real, it should happen more often than once per decade.

Have you been asleep? We are unbeaten at home in pl and Europe for like 2.5 years.

So yea.
This was at the start of this campaign. We are 5-1-0 this year.

Once in a decade tho.

So the magic coincides with a 2-year period where you spent over £300m? interesting.

Iniesta should be mentioned more for GOAT status.

Seems like only yesterday Aidsrazor was promising that the new stadium and its SKYWALK were going to carry Spurs finances beyond Liverpool’s. Now he’s back to just happy to be here status. Sad!

Iniesta was a one man midfield at keeping possession for his team and winning it back. Plus his ability to create scoring chances I think he should be in the GOAT conversation.
You were guaranteed to have >60% possession if Iniesta was on your squad.

Grats Liverpool.

Cockface is still the biggest cockface I've ever encountered.

"I will always believe in this team!' Even when it's a 2% chance but nobody else is allowed to have faith in their team!

Lol what a cock (face).

while i'm a huge fan of andres, imo xavi >= iniesta

nothing beats xaviesta, tho, and it's tough to talk about one w/o including the other

from prime xaviesta to playing granpa-duo of rakitic and vidal in ucl semis...oh boy, that's quite something
no wonder messi needs to constantly drop deep to give this team any chance of creating anything
the problem is, it's also him who needs to be at the end of these chances; suarez eg has scored 2 goals in 21 ucl matches over the last two seasons, that's bonkers

can't wait for de jong to join the ranks next season, him and arthur might actually make barca mf competitive again

Won't matter if Valverde is still manager. Can't set the team out to play a way that nullifies their strengths and expect to win.

I'm actually surprised he hasn't resigned yet.

Barcelona peaked in 2011 imo.

The first goal they scored vs Man U in the CL final involving Xavi turning around 3 defenders and finding an open Pedro was a thing of beauty. Messi is the only one with that kind of creativity on the team now and Suarez isn't what he was 3-5 years ago.

Over the two legs Liverpool showed to be a better team than Barca.
Klopp deserves all the credit because that Liverpool lineup yesterday doesn’t deserve to be on the same field as Barca, never mind win 4-0
Messi was the best player in the tie over the 180 minutes.
