Jets legit 0-2 when screw ups from all three teams from both games are factored.

Thoughts on last play was ridiculous. The entire broadcast and stadium knew it was going to Edleman and they put Demario on him. He screwed up though and bite on his first move and instead should of just shadowed him. Yea very bad play. We still got the ball though so didnt matter much. Would of liked the extra 1:20 or so though.
I'll just be straightforward then and say your rebuttal was stupid and devoid of logic.

It was an awesome call and formation, saying it was luckboxed is just bad.

Trade, you do realize Kerley is normally the PR right? Wilson is only back there because of the concussion
I'd lay 9:1 it was a called play. The Seahawks use this play all the time. It's a variation on spider 2 Y banana. The classic spider 2 y banana features the OL stretching left with a play action fake to the RB who's also running left while the player lined up at Y, usu. a TE or slot WR, runs a banana route to the right against the flow of the play. The primary read, however, is a FB coming out of the backfield running right who fakes like he's blocking the back side of the play but instead chips the backside defender before releasing down the sideline. In the TD play, Dobson is lined up as a TE rather than a FB, and there's no banana route going to the right behind the DL, but the essential elements of this play were all there: play action with the OL sliding left, Dobson faking the backside block and releasing down the sideline as the primary read on the play. With a team that's solid at 'stablishing, it's a great way to pick up 8-10 yards, as the LBs have a tendency to bite HARD on this play.

The Seahawks will use variations on this play 2-5 times a game from different personnel groupings and formations, esp. since LBs have to respect Lynch running even out of a 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB set. It's how Michael Robinson made his millions, although now they are using Luke Willson in that role.

So Rex Ryan sucks at calling defensive plays?

For Pats fans ---> Was that the most boring game you ever watched?
LOL @ this. If the patriots were where they were supposed to be every play, the Jets would have like gained < 10 yards for the whole game!

well, I didn't think Brady was perfect last night, but it seems like I was wrong. 72%+28%=100% so the math checks out.

Is he bad at coaching players, telling them what to do or picking the right personal to get the job done? I don't get how NE can be lucky to score this easy a TD while the Jets are great. They must either be bad at something (i.e. having a screwup player in there) or NE must have executed the play well.

Agree.

It was both a great play/fake and total screwup. If anything that play should of been a positive of 10 yards, not a TD. I said this before but Rex always defers when he wins the coin toss and it bites him in the ass.

"You just can't throw the venus on a spider 3 Y banana."

I can't be the only one that wants this as a shirt (play on the back or something)

Edit for anyone that's curious this is a very solid explanation imo:

I'm sure it'll happen soon. The Pats aren't a very good football team right now. If taunting us as your team struggles to win 6 games is what gets you by, go nuts.

Yeah, this is a great breakdown of the fundamentals of the play, along with the above video. For people who are interested in other variations, here's a blog post breaking down the Seahawks' final drive against the Panthers in which they dial up Spider 3 Y Banana twice along with a Spider 2 Y Banana to go with it. In the second Spider 3 Y Banana, the Seahawks come out in 3 wide, 1 TE, 1 RB personnel, motion Golden Tate from slot to FB, and then run the play to him out of the back field, breaking 3 tackles and turning an 8 yard gain into an 18 yard gain. Beautiful.

And here's a breakdown of some tape from last year on the same play, this time includes one play in which the Seahawks motion from power I to pistol and run Spider 2 Y Banana off a read-option fake.
