this. I definitely have doubts that someone can remain the BMOTP when hes not training with world class people in each discipline, and his last two fights sure don't inspire confidence. With that said, it'd be so awesome if Fedor just dominated everyone and proved the Werdum loss to just be one flukish mistake that Fedor made.

Question for anyone: Would a younger Fedor have won this fight? Is he overrated only nowadays or was there a time the 5.5-1 odds would've been accurate?

(Disclaimer--I don't follow MMA too much. I'm a (very) casual fan, and I didn't even know this even was on until I was running through my tv channels.)

He would still be outweighed by 50 by a very talented HW. Who knows. Maybe.

Maybe his resume was a little overrated....but he fought some of the best at the time. I doubt he would have ever been that successful if he was magically transported to UFC the last 2-3 years at LHW or HW in his prime.

yeah i think overall we can say that he was the best for a while, but even in his prime he wouldnt beat the top fighters of today.

Fedor is one of those guys that has kinda garnered a reputation of mythical proportions. He was the first dude I saw dominate when i started watching the sport..and back then the BMFOTP were Cro Cop and Nogueira. SO when Fedor plowed through them his legend grew and grew and....

Truth is... that winrate is not sustainable for ANY mma fighter vs top competitoin. So yeah his resume was padded with alot of japanese cans and he came into strikeforce with a whole lot of hype but SF heavyweight division is stronger than UFC's imo and well thats what u get.

Variance plays a large role in mma...but this performance just proved that someone with a 50 lb weight advantage is gonna win most of the time...Fedor at 205? Nah too old for that besides he's rich now you can tell his heart isnt into it anymore. Oh well /rant GG fedor weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
