So here I am
All on my own
Lookin' around
Hard rain driving
Everything's moving
Bright lights flashing
In all directions
Now I feel
The wave inside
And now I feel
The wave inside
I'll hide my smile

It's really not that bad. You don't work with the visceral everyday, and it's perfectly possible to choose a career where you never would have to. It's pretty ****ing draining at this point though. Your first two years are more of what you think of as traditional school, but this year I'm just everyone's bitch. If you have a superior that is a ****head you're going to have a bad time. Oh and the ****head, who won't even remember your name, has say over about half your grade.

I've been lucky to mostly avoid that, but it happens

Ugh this plays into my dilemma right now. Do I do what I think is really cool but requires a massive workload (orthopedics) or do I do something that is kinda cool but would allow me to set my own schedule long term (emergency med)?

Leaning towards the latter tbqh. I want to work to live not the other way around.

Residency is clearly a ****ing bitch. I guess if you don't have a family it wouldn't be too bad. But damn has it been a massive bitch on my sister-in-law.

Some are worse than others but yeah, that's a big problem for me. I basically have to have kids as a resident because my wife is the same age as me. I'll be 36 when I finish residency if I do surgery. Nothin like working 80 hours a week and making 50k after becoming a 'doctor'.

Truth is that medical school wastes a ton of your time doing nonsense instead of training you to be a physician. Therefore you're kinda useless to patients immediately after graduation and need to learn how to actually practice.

My high school friends who did med school seem disgustingly happy.

I probably have a warped perspective, and I'm going based on Facebook, but still.

One of them seemed more depressed than I was in high school but now posts these pictures with his ridiculously hot boyfriend and they're always like hurting their mouths grinning. Neither of us were close to out last we spoke ldo.

I'm not bitter or anything man

Triton: not exactly a moon of Saturn.

Titan: really big moon of Saturn.

I'll give him a B+ for effort.

Yo man, Titan is bigger so by my calculations that just nets you MOAR MAGNETISM, so I'm sure that's what he meant anyway. Could happen to any astrophysicist specializing in terraformation of planetary bodies.
