Look, the general WC discussion threads (USA/World) will close soon. The eight Group threads will only be around until group play is finished (June 25th), and the event will be over by July 11th.

The transfer thread needs to stay open because news still happens.

This is, to quote the WSOP introductions, "THE BIGGEST TOURNAMENT IN THE WORLD!". Let it have it's day.

MLB has one thread when 12-13 games happening at once - anout the same for early NFL games - one thread - and stuff actually happens in those sports -how can soccer possibly not be good with one thread like those sports?

This time next month it'll basically be over. I mean...in a weeks time there won't even be NBA or NHL. I think things are ok for now tbh. And I doubt I'll really follow any of the threads outside of the Italy one.
