beast in the air, great tactically and for a CB really quick too

It's mainly the fact he knows how to defend, as simple as that sounds. Many full backs feel like terrible cbs but there's the few that can be versatile and a pretty valuable squad member. May actually be a good pick up for city.

As a squad addition I'm starting to warm following the above comments.

He could pull a Maldini or an Abidal and migrate to CB in his late years.

I expect that and it's one of the main reasons why letting him go would be a big mistake

perfect scenario would be signing his RB successor this window and keep sagna to rotate as 2nd RB and 3rd CB(he is better than vermaelen)

Yea that just doesn't seem like our kinda signing unless the market for him disintegrates and we get him cheap.

Thinking about younger fullbacks, is Aurier coming to England?

Yeah not really in the FSG mold to look to spend 100k pw on a 31 year old

just give glen's money to him and you get a top FB for the next 2 or 3 years for 0 xfer fee and plug the most gaping of holes in the team

your window for success is right now, dont blow it by fannying around with 21 year old FBs

Glens got another year of money. And i give Sagna one more year tops of being a good enough fb for us.

Not that I see it happening but he'd be an upgrade on Ivanovic at RB for sure.

We're probably likely to sign a LB instead though.

Apparently Sagna wanted 3 years and £100k p/w and it sounds as if the club did almost everything they could short of meeting those exact figures. Hope his last (deserved) payday doesn't come from another English club.

He's already better than all of your full backs, unless he breaks both his legs he'll be better than all you full backs this time next year as well, no idea why you're turning your nose up at him.

I don't think Liverpool are in the market for a 31yr old RB who is looking around £100k p/w. Nor should they be imo. That type of deal is destined for an Italian club.

Galatasary and Fenerbache being linked with him now

100 k p/w for saga isn't that outrageous I would think given his versatility to slide in as a cb

Arsenal will go and not give him his money and instead give a guy with little hope of making an impact like 50-60k cuz that's good business
