He did inherit this team from DK, so it wasn't as if Gerrard was necessarily his first choice pick had he been here from the start.

I think that's worth noting.

My LB is gonna be a pure defender because Alves will be pushing forward most of the time.

Anyway, I was thinking a slightly more attacking version of the Ancelotti 4-3-2-1 formation that he used with Milan. In other words, Gerrard/Cassano = Kaka/Seedorf, Poulsen/Veloso = Gattuso/Ambrosini, Alves = Zambrotta on steroids, and Misimovic = Pirlo pushed higher up.

And if I want to play more defensively, I can push Misimovic up to a pure playmaking CAM, Gerrard back to a box-to-box CM, and do 4-3-1-2.

Updated formation:

--------------------GK-------------
Johsnon-----Samuel----Alex-----LB
-----------Essien------Masch-------
Simao/Lennon-----Totti-----Hamsik/Simao--
----------------Berbatov------------

FWIW I'm only going to refer to him as Hamsick

Honestly, I've been a big fan of what silentbob has done in this draft. He's made some very solid and very interesting picks (Cassano and Misimovic come to mind) but he knows what he wants to do and he's had a solid gameplan to back it up.

Once again, I'll be listening to offers for Mutu, Stankovic and Del Piero if anyone's interested.

SB has certainly done a pretty good job considering he came in late.

i don't even think that there is that much of a difference between valdez and the 40th best keeper in the world. If someone is able to craft a good defense, then all you need is a solid keeper

don't like this pick at all. Obviously as a ManU fan, I want him to kick ass, but his past couple of seasons haven't been all that great

having lampard playing deeper like that is a complete waste of his talent. He should be right up with the strikers

Iaquinta is a total bitch. He might be a great striker if he stayed on his feet when a defender gets a touch physical.

the reason for that is that Valdez is probably closer to being the 40th best keeper in the world than being in the top ten.

People should not be impressed by the fact that he plays for Barcelona. Due to the nature of the position, there are little turnaround, so even mediocre player can remain in the top clubs for a long time as long as they are not too horrible.

O'shea and Owen picks surely a joke?

O'Shea doesn't make your team worse, so I guess he's got that going for him.

I'm keeping my mouth shut about Owen, and just hoping he has a nice season.

O'Shea is a better pick than Anderson
