I'd put the first 1.5 seasons of Homeland up there against any other show OAT. After that is when things went south. Still a well above average show though.

+1 to this. I thought she was unreal and the show was excellent for the most part.

Legit spoiler here for any who haven't watched:

Spoiler:
The show for me took a slight hit in the finale with the stupid patent reveal though

Lost and Dexter couldnt close the deal but both elite for several years. cmon lost was a trip. agree with that mad men, GOT, sopranos, bb, and wire in no particular order as the best of all time imo.

homeland is getting good again. they had to transition from brody and family...it wasnt easy.

anatta did you watch the series finale of Dexter? Interested on your take, I thought it was the worst television episode I've ever seen.

yeah i made it to the end. i thought the final wasnt horrible, but not good at all. i was bored throughout the final season. i thought they could have stuck with the family of dex and blondie and that protege kid and baby, that would have been the happy ending, all of them in argentina. but then if they wanted to go all dark on us, then yeah they didnt do a very good job. it was, i dont want to go into spoilers or anything, but going from killer to cured to totally down and out and willing to give up everything...i dunno man.

on Lost, check out this random character summary from wiki, these are minor characters but how can this show not be a trip...

Dr. Ethan Rom is the child of Amy and Horace Goodspeed, and grew up in the Dharma Initiative in the 1970s. After the organization is purged by the Others, Ethan joins the latter group. When Flight 815 crashes on the island, he poses as a fuselage survivor until he is exposed by Hurley, at which point he abducts Claire and Charlie, unsuccessfully attempting to murder the latter. Claire is rescued, and Charlie then kills Ethan in "Homecoming". His name is an anagram of "Other Man."[14] In the alternate timeline he has his parents' last name and examines Claire when she has issues with her pregnancy.

Goodwin Stanhope Brett Cullen
Goodwin Stanhope is married to the Others' therapist, Harper Stanhope. He has an affair with Juliet, which dismays Ben because he too is in love with Juliet. Out of jealousy, Ben sends Goodwin on a mission to infiltrate the tail section survivors, knowing the dangers Goodwin will face. When Goodwin's identity is indeed discovered, Ana Lucia confronts and kills him.

Lennon John Hawkes
Lennon is one of the Others taking refuge in the Temple. He acts as translator for Dogen and was killed by Sayid when he ignored the ultimatum brought forth by The Man in Black.

Lost was mega elite. I'm in the small minority that thought the finale was really really good. I mean, there are still people who think there are 100s of questions left unanswered, but really it's just how/who started/discovered the island.

Show is megaelite, can't recommend it enough. After being exhausted by so many shows (which will go unnamed) desperately trying to be GREAT, GRITTY DRAMA it was refreshing to watch something that was just an ultra-fun rollercoaster (that still has some sense of stakes and interesting themes). And yeah, Tatiana Maslany is terrific in it.

Also, Seinfeld characters:
1. George
2. Elaine
3. Kramer
4. Jerry

They're all very close though, maybe more so than any other ensemble comedy.

I do like Jerry and think he was an integral part of the show. Him being #4 is just a testament to the greatness of the other three who I think are all GOATish comedy characters.

after finishing with season 3 yesterday, i was searching for specific episode ratings of BB and found these graphs here - someone did the job since imdb doesn't provide those (nicely done imo) graphs, so if you're curious...

Almost caught up on Mad Men. One episode left in S6. It's unbelievably good. S6 is by far the best season IMO. Shocked it's not getting more ink here.

Mad Men is impossible to talk about around people who don't like Mad Men. It just spirals into a lot of NO U.

It's pretty amazing though. Looking forward to rewatching it all again before the last season. (or last season part c **** you amc).

Had no idea it was hard to talk about. That's weird. I definitely felt lulls/weaknesses in earlier seasons, but S6 is just pitch perfect. Pete, particularly, has gone from meh at best early in the show to ****ing awesome every second he's on screen.

I had never watched the last season for some reason, but rewatched 1-5 prior to and it was much better than on first watch.
