really? Every single one I know well enough to know their leanings is voting Hillary and more than half of those are not anti-Trump votes, but pro-Hillary ones. Sample size of like 15 doctors and 3 lawyers.

Isn't CDL in finance? Doctors and lawyers are who has money to invest

seems pretty normal to know a lot of doctors if you are friends with a few of them. Lots of people who want to become doctors either become friends with, date, or marry other doctors so if you hang out with these people with any regularity you often end up around a lot of other doctors.

The election watch party I plan to attend will probably be about 15 doctors, 1 lawyer, 2-3 other people in public health, and maybe 5-6 people in other industries. The non-doctors are all dating or married to a doctor with the exception of me and one other guy.

Might be a lot different depending on location. Don't know many MD lawyers or doctors who are voting Trump.

We were hanging out with our next door neighbors after our kids got done trick or treating; they're a really cool couple, mid 50s, successful professionally, with two well adjusted kids in their late 20s. We live in a nice downtown neighborhood where most of the residents are pretty well off; as a result, we get a number of families that come in from the less prosperous areas to get some candy. No big deal, right, just buy an extra three or four bags of candy and go on with your life? The husband said something about "at least now I can see all the people that get our tax money" as the wife made agreement type noises.

I kind of buried the lede, though, since the above wasn't too surprising: he apparently has a very right leaning blog that he gets up early to update every morning. I don't have the heart to read it because I really like the guy otherwise. Obviously they're both voting for Trump.

the groupthink charge is a no-win charge.

i'm either an idiot for thinking the same way somebody else does or an idiot for thinking something that ends up being wrong.

it's overcompensation for the argumentum ad populum fallacy.

am i simply not allowed to reach the same conclusion as somebody else?

I think this is probably true but I'm not really sure why. I could ask my wife, but I've got maybe 90 seconds in me before my brain starts trying to escape down my spinal column to escape the boredom, and that's probably not enough time.

They're just keeping it real. Stop being a cuck SJW by showing a tiny bit of empathy towards people less well off than you.
