It's weird how the Kremlin-favored candidate didn't get hacked, but her opponent did.

Weird.

My sources in the Le Pen camp tell me the election looks to have already been "stolen" despite "a little help from our friends" so rest easy Macronmpkins.

wouldn't think this would change much, but then again i've been surprised once or twice in recent years...
90:10 on Betfair, this gave her a slight surge but Macron silently gained 8 points after the last debate.

What's mostly interesting is the timing. They have this weird thing where the media shuts down 44 hours before the election, to prevent someone from pulling a late comey I presume. This means that it's illegal for journalists to debunk things in the emails, for Macron to publicly defend himself(even tweet), etc. #1 way of spreading information might now be pepeian memes with actual fake news getting shared on facebook, which can obviously end in disaster.

Seems logical. People need time to sit in outdoor cafes smoking Gitanes and letting realities sink in while awash in a sea of dispair and tragedy.

Man ripping the French is fun and all but making fun of them for having exceptional quality of life never made much sense to me. They don't work very hard and get to chill in cafes eating incredible food. Joke's on us.

I guess this depends on whether or not you define the ~10% of France that follows Islam as "French" - maybe your post would have been better written as "white people"?

I'm stoked, going to Paris this week and it would have been a downer if the city (which voted for Le Pen at stunningly low levels in round 1, despite ostensibly being full of the most vulnerable French pwnsall writes about above that Le Pen just wanted to protect) was all bummed about electing their own Trump!

There's a smaller margin for error in the Senate, and I think getting every single R senator on board the party line on this one is going to be harder than it sounds. That's probably why they're starting with their own bill rather than even considering the House one.

In what I read about the bill leading up to the vote, I think the tax cuts are temporary in that 10 year window in order to preserve its status as a reconciliation bill. Making it permanent would be part of the "step 2" or "step 3" bill that Republicans wistfully talk about which Tom Cotton of all people blasted awhile ago:

Quote:
Hugh, there is no three-phase process. There is no three-step plan. That is just political talk. It's just politicians engaging in spin. This is why. Step one is a bill that can pass with 51 votes in the Senate. That's what we're working on right now. Step two, as yet unwritten regulations by Tom Price, which is going to be subject to court challenge, and therefore, perhaps the whims of the most liberal judge in America. But step three, some mythical legislation in the future that is going to garner Democratic support and help us get over 60 votes in the Senate. If we had those Democratic votes, we wouldn't need three steps. We would just be doing that right now on this legislation altogether. That's why it's so important that we get this legislation right, because there is no step three. And step two is not completely under our control.

The more sane* of the two of Louisiana's senators is a doctor who already came out with some not-so-positive remarks about the house bill.

I believe the word you were looking for was "fascist". What exactly is a "neo lib" ?

In the 60s something like buy American or Americans first would have been considered liberal and pro worker. What a world.

It was pro union. But it was never a liberal position.

Buy American was a conservative position for a while. But they abandoned that like they abandon every principle if it slightly inconveniences them.
