Guatemala is a facemelter. I know one guy from Guatemala. We used to work together - he was 30 years older than me but we became friendly while working on a project together and he got free tickets to Astros games from Jose Cruz and would invite me and invariably ask me 100 questions about the game. He was obsessed with the Beatles and his favorite baseball team was "The Jankees". lol. Nice guy. Really good pianist. He told me El Salvadorian women were beautiful.

We'll see, but I think you'll just end up wasting two categories to still have a transmission rate exponentially lower than flu or smallpox.

I think Guatemala has way too much green (RE potential to grow food) but it has a lot of novelty in it.

Death by sinkhole seems like a pretty cool way to die if you have to go.

This thread is making me feel pretty bad people are actually living in these places right now.

Question: with regard to land and animals, what are the animals eating to survive? Are we assuming their natural prey is available to sustain the population, or is this just a constant respawn scenario? Are the animals breeding? Can they multiply in population?

No. 1 animal on my board still out there. And I can't believe it's not No. 1 on everyone else's.

I've got multiple potential #1 animals but one is especially funny. My previous question relates to this.

CPHoya, just assume the animal you pick survives. Like even if you choose a desert for land, and an animal that requires a lot of water - just assume the animal lives. The animal is really just there to provide meat and to kill the human inhabitants if irritated.

The animals would breed at their natural rate, so they can multiply if they aren't being killed fast enough I suppose.

Though I did say if one is killed then another re-spawns.... so maybe their population is held constant... ? Dunno. Thoughts?

Ok instead of pestilence I'll pick a weapon:

Live Hand Grenades

Everyone is given the weapon according to the rules so everyone is holding a live hand grenade that will explode within seconds of them releasing it.

This will cause mass deaths as people either accidently let go or toss it as far as they can, likely killing others and infrastructure as they do so

And of course there are unlimited supply per the rules

Obviously you don't mean there is just 1 in all the land, so you must mean there's some critical mass that is always sustained via respawning.

Question is can they breed and overrun the land if not controlled; I vote absolutely they can.

Smallpox is decent I guess. The fact that it was eradicated fairly quickly once the world got its **** together isn't a good sign though. It ran into a little adversity and crumbled like a snowflake. I'd like my disease/virus to have a little more WIM than that.

But I mean I said 1 respawns if killed (for meat or otherwise), so I'm not sure we can have it both ways. If they can replicate out of control then they should also be able to be killed off to a manageable number. Which is bad because we want some critical mass as you say.

The Spanish flu I got is said to have killed more people in 1 year than the black plague in 100. That's another thing I love about it - longevity doesn't really matter. Quick deaths are crucial.

Not exactly sure "live" hand grenade is within the boundaries of the rules. I think it should come with the pin in it. Which means it's "useable" - not MANDATORY use once acquired. lol.

But it's funny to think about. Does every newborn just get handed a grenade with a pulled pin? Devastating if so.
SE Death and Destruction Draft Quote
05-01-2014 , 05:22 PM
Yeah I mean that pick is pretty abusive of the rules, there's no reason the live hand grenades would also have the pin pulled, that's kinda exactly like giving everyone a "time bomb" with 00:02 left.

It's still really funny as a concept, just shouldn't fly per TEH RULEZ.
