Not been keeping up to date with this tournament, but what's the deal with Taylor and getting abuse from someone?

I caught the end of the conversation with knob face so not sure what was going on.

LOL at Barney not having his darts with him for the tournament.

Reminds me my similar story...

Spoiler:
I used to play a lot of lawn bowls as a kid for social teams and that kind of thing since my old man played a lot. Anyway, after being told I was rather good by one of the ex-state players at the club, I was told to try and enter the under 18 State Finals events, which I played for two years. Bit of a pain since I lived so far away (2.5 hour drive from where the event was held) but I played and did pretty well.

In my last year, I thought I was an okay chance of maybe winning the event (maybe 50 people in the tournament or so). However, because of work issues I was made the trip with my Dad the morning of the event. Being the idiot I was, I left behind my set of lawn bowls I had been given the year before which I was very used to. So I had to borrow a completely different set when we arrived, which were a different weight (not much of an issue) but a different make and model, which was a big difference since differnet sets of lawn bowls swing out further, swing in at a harder angle etc...

Anyway, the tournament announcer made mention of the fact I had left my set behind, and everyone got a good laugh out of it. That day I beat 3 people 21-1, 21-9 and the last years State Champion (who actually gets paid to play by his club) 21-15. The roasting that kid got from who I assume was his Dad was easily the biggest Angry parent blowup I have ever seen in all my junior sports events, throwing his hat in the bin on trash on the way out as well actually smashing a drinking glass, mentioning something about losing to a bumpkin (me).

I lost the quarter final 21-18 to a guy who now actually plays for Australia under 25's IIRC.

[/cool story bro]

Anyway, Whitlock vs Wright tonight... bring it England...

Newton has really stepped his game up in the last year or so. And sick walk-on music is making me a big fan.

Thought both Lewis and Wade were under par but Wade much much less so which makes it seem like a destruction but really it was just an absolute trash performance from Lewis.

Taylor is not losing tomorrow.

Come on Phil!

Phil broke him already.

4-2 up now.

And breaks him again.

5-2.

Getting a lead now, this could be over before 8 o'clock**

8-2 at the break then.

Pretty much over now imo

Sorry for the noob question, im just starting to get into darts. During these competitions what games do they play? I only know cricket, cricket with pts, 301, 501, and baseball. I would love to know which one to learn or specialize in so I can play like the pros!! Thanks!

501 almost exclusively.

only real difference in the tournament on now compared to most is that they must start know a double in this event. usually you only need to finish on a double

I was playing a couple of matches today, first time in a good while.

First three darts scored...7....next three 27....140...then pish through out and took 4 darts at my double.

Gotcha!! Also, thanks for the clarification on doubles in and doubles out.

Edit... Is it best out of 7 games or something, like tennis?

matches can be played on straight games. usually first to about or sets where 3 games equals a set. number of sets to win generally increases as the tournament goes on 13 or so

I was throwing for my local on Sat night as a late replacement. Let's just say I won't be joining the team. Had a few drinks in me before I got asked so that's my excuse.

Sets are normally best of 5 e'g 1st to win 3 games of 501 (normally straight start as opposed to double start which they play in this current tourny) wins the set.
