Just turned over from the football... I didn't know they let 12 year olds play?

If you're good enough you're old enough

Would have loved to have heard Bristow go nuts at that like he would have done if he was commentating.

Because Bristow would never not go for a double with an opponent on an unlikely 3 dart finish

Rowby is obviously one for the future.

It is a good sign that he does not seem to get to down on himself when hes getting a little can of whoop.

20 year old and has made over £37k this year, the future is bright for the lad.

Can yippee-ki-yay and kingweed post their brackets ITT so I know who I need to bust to ship the inaugral "DARTS KNOWLEDGE CHAMPION OF THE UNIVERSE" title thanks...

About the darts, having the first round over six nights with two double sessions rather than a full eight has worked out really well this year, doesn't seem to be as much time between the start of the first round and the end of the second like other years, but that might just be a function of some good darts and the number of potential winners being in the ten range rather than two or three.

Who do you guys consider the best (or your favorite) referee at the World Championship?

***

Russ "The Voice" Bray

Spoiler:

This is my favorite ref because of his awesome voice.

***

George Noble

Spoiler:

When I watched darts on tv for the first time - back in the days when Barney was owning it up at the BDO WC - this ref was already around. He has the best one hundred and eighty of them all.

***

Kirk Bevins

Spoiler:

Young guy who I think is very solid. As far as I know he's the only one who truly emphasizes 170+ scores.

***

Paul Hinks

Spoiler:

This guy made the big mistake in the climactic match between Newton and Reyes. I'm not fond of his nasal voice either.

The Puppy for me.

Already thought Paul Hinks was bad, but not knowing the rules kind of sealed it.

Little Richard in the BDO is quite good, although they all do compared to Fitzmaurice

Excellent question, Russ for mine.

As an aside, when the darts was in Perth they had a player meet and greet I went to the end of, and I made the effort of having a chat and shaking hands with the group of anouncers, and it was only at that point I realised I knew who none of them were by name. That was pretty embarrassing, but for the most part they were cool.

EDIT: The other reason why it was a bit awkward was I accidentally bumped into their conversation about Tony Eccles being a rapist before it all came to public light, and I definitely picked a bad time to say hello. Probably one of the most awkward conversations I have ever accidentally listened to.

Do we have to preempt a nine darter every single time someone starts a leg with a 180?
