Yup, Flamini is gone, and honestly I hope Hleb is as well. Hleb pisses me off more than just about every other starting Arsenal player. He can dribble in a phone booth but couldn't score in a whore house.

I doubt Gilberto is gone. For some reason I think he stays.

but i just kinda lol'd that he said "bollocks" and the guy asked him to watch his language. i mean, i know, different cultures, whatever, but its just such a wonderfully british scene.
That's why he doesn't do BBC interviews anymore. If they had the cut back to the studio with Big Ears it's even funnier. "We apologise if anyone was offended during that interview" "Bollocks" - offended? No wonder they lost so many major sporting events, bunch of out of touch old women.

I think Flamini will struggle to get a game at AC and his career will go down hill.
I don't. Flamini's game is perfectly suited to Serie A. Honestly, I don't fault the guy. The pace of the game is better for him, and Wenger has the habit of running his young, first teamers into the groung (look at Cese.) So, not only was A.C. all over his nuts, but he will likely have a longer and more prosperous career there.

As for Arsenal, sure they should have locked him up for no other reason to get a fee. But, really, as of a year ago, he was unsettled: 1) on Arsenal's side of the ledger, they were not sure if he was developing into the player they wanted; 2) by the time it was clear he was in their plans, Flamini had all the leverage and he knew his favored teams would come calling. Therefore, unless Arsenal wanted to overpay, they were going to lose him.

Oh well, move on.

Spurs kits unveiled today.

I like. Too many words on the home kit though. I'd say I like the 3rd kit the most.

Nothing special. I guess with the Asian characters, Spurs are officially a "Chinese Firedrill"

Lol. I said nothing special. I do appriciate the clean look of the home kit. I am not a big fan of the sky blue; the third kit is better than most. I will submit that you would look (and feel) much better in red and white with the cannon-badge, but whatever.

Read an interesting article that Newcastle offered more money to Modric's club and roughly twice the wages that Spurs did, yet he still ended up in London.

On a semi-related note, when are you guys (TSC) going to start a transfer thread?

SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) - Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has been approached by Manchester City to replace Sven-Goran Eriksson, the Brazilian's spokesman told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Eriksson retains the backing of fans, but City chairman Thaksin Shinawatra is frustrated with his side's slump after a strong start to the season.

While the English Premier League club has made an official approach to Scolari, negotiations are yet to begin while he focuses on preparing Portugal for the European Championship, spokesman Acaz Fellegger told the AP.

Fellegger said it is possible, but unlikely, that the parties could meet before the June tournament in Austria and Switzerland.

The development is similar to circumstances shortly before the 2006 World Cup when England approached Scolari to replace Eriksson, who had announced he would step down as manager of the national team following Germany.

Scolari ruled out accepting the job before the tournament, and England eventually hired Steve McClaren. Portugal ousted England in the quarterfinals.

Eriksson didn't coach again until he accepted the Manchester City job in July.

But he apparently is resigned to being fired by Thaksin after just one season, despite fans protesting throughout Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Liverpool.

Eriksson told reporters that the fans' outcry wouldn't be enough to save his job - the first time he publicly acknowledged he was expecting to be terminated.
Now this would be interesting.

Start one if you want to. I don't think the transfer window has opened yet, but I could be wrong.

No it hasn't. I was just wondering if there is any interest for it yet, since there seems to be some movement starting up.

Might as well wait a week I suppose till the Prem is wrapped up.

It is sometimes the way with foreign players, if it's not Liverpool/Man U, then they often prefer to be London based rather than play for another of the also rans.

Transfers have kicked off even though the window isn't open, pre-contact signings can now take place with a view to June 1st movement.

The interesting thing about this picture is that Berbatov is not in it.

Does this mean they know he's going?

Saw that this morning, quite laughable that having told Sven he's finished after Sunday, that he's now expected to take City on their pre-season tour.
