Well Nova is ****ting all over UConn so far, it looks like we're so flat on defense, like we're not even trying. This is the same team that showed up in the first half vs Georgetown, and we all know how that turned out.

They are 11th nationally defensively which isn't bad either. Will see if it lasts through ACC season.

Has UNC ranked as the 11th best defense when schedule/pace adjustments are made. They look bad PPG wise because of how fast they pay but for the most part, are seen as a very good defense once stats are adjusted.

numbers tell me nothing. they have size and athleticism on just about everyone they play, even acc teams, and rely way too much on blocked shots, etc. to 'bail' them out because they are playing such awful off the ball defense and making such terrible gambles and have such bad footwork, etc. obviously they're not terrible, but it's a pretty obvious hole. i also don't think they have anyone who is a real stopper that doesn't have a stress fracture in their foot. i suppose they can defend the post okay but they don't really have anyone that can guard guards.. and ellington is a pretty big liability on the defensive end with his lack of footspeed side to side.

Green is our best defender if you've watched the games. I dont know if he's a stopper but he's a pretty good defender. Ginyard is obviously heavily missed by this team. He was the glue and leader.

AE I agree w/ you about Danny Green, but I think that pertains more to last year. He really came on the mental side of defense at the end of the year last year and the beginning of this year.

your first sentence is completely ridiculous but everything else is spot on. UNC is an above average D and the focus is unfairly put on them because the offense is so effective. everything else in this post is spot on. Ginyard out is such a monster hole in the D. if he's giving 30 minutes a game this team is going to be really really tough to get baskets on.

the second half tonight is a great example of great defense. we got stops all over the court but left the occasional threeball open (re:ginyard). ellington played with a ton of energy and intensity and green was great

also uconn looked awesome 2nd half
