1. re: vezina...i'm worried about quick. i think he's more likely to win than henrik right now. henrik had the rangers. quick had the kings not playing nearly as well as they are now. that's the main thing im worried about. i see your logic about the hart nomination and hope you're right...

2. re: nyr d...that's our edge, not our problem. we've pretty much run a 5-d team for a while and our top 4 d are USED TO playing 20-30 mins/game. strahlman is a good 5th d and we barely need bickel. staal/delzotto, girardi/mcdonagh are all around, two way, super good defensemen. if we're talking about marginally playing them a few mins less here and there to recover from the 14 games, then i think we're fine. strahlman can pinch in where needed. we will see tonight how this plays out. i'm betting top 4 get 25ish avg each and strahlman/bickel get the other avg 10 mins.

3. if quick lets in goals like he did last night, whoever wins this is gunna win the cup. that was hilarious. TWO BAD goals in 1 game. unreal. 100 foot ****ing center ice shot that he went down on in bad position (my brother commented about this and he's a popa trained goalie so i dont know if this is right, i'm just going off of what he said), and then another horrible goal where he didn't seem to care whether he got back into the net after slowly/nonchalantly playing a puck in his trapazoid. wtf was that? he's been incredible obv by all metrics but those 2 (mostly the 2nd one actually) were just bad.

overall, i agree w/ the lines:
i see rangers -125to -135 to devils +144

kings before last night were -160.

even brodeur is taking his hat off to henrik saying he's "kind of" the top guy. exceptional goalie playing in his prime vs. arguably the best goalie of all time. if you had to choose, obv you'd take kobe when he was hitting his prime vs. jordan over 40. same goes here. this netminder contest should have money on lundqvist, which is a huge honor being statistically and overall better currently than the probable best goalie of all time. there's a reason everybody in ny is kneeling at the throne of the king.

The PHX player who got between Quick and the net clipped Quicks leg from behind, not enough to make him fall, but you can clearly see that Quick was trying to regain his balance while getting back to the net, then unfortunate timing of when he moved his head to look over his left shoulder, it was the same time as the puck was played out infront, so he didnt even see the pass being made

The only thing he could have done different really is go down from the slight contact to draw a goalie interference call

No

The reasons Lundqvist wins the Vezina
- Lifetime achievement
- East Coast bias (even among GM's)

Avery is the Devils' kryptonite. Definitely would not be a bad idea to bring him into this. Oh yeah he threw his skates in the Hudson River. Oh well, Devils & Marty Cheaty McSlut Brodeur win then.

Will almost have to even/spread it out some.

Two tough 7-game series. Lot of OT games. Pretty much zero break from their last hard series over to the next one...whereas NJ is much fresher. Maybe too long a break? They clinched on Tuesday so the concern that it's been too much gap-time between games is valid.

But overall, I think getting those extra couple of days to heal-up by winning your series more quickly is huge. Playoffs are grueling and hard and there's a lot of knocks and bruises and guys running on fumes, etc etc...especially with OT's in there too.

NYR barely had time to turn the page from their emotionally-charged series with WSH. While NJ's series win is practically ancient history now. Really helpful for NJ for their two games at NY coming up.
