$2.2 seems optimistic for Greene, at least from what I read on that Devils blog. If he can be had for that cheap I'd like the Flyers to give him a shot though finding the money would he hard obv.

I just found my program from the last game I attended. March 7, 1996, Jets v Panthers. Khabibulin, Jovocop, Rob "how?" Niedermayer and Shane Doan being the 4 players still remaining in the league.

Atlanta Spirit Group/True North announcement expected tomorrow at 11 AM EST, according to multiple Canadian media sources. All of the big networks (TSN, Sportsnet, etc.) have sent correspondents to Winnipeg. Where there's smoke, there's fire; I'm gonna assume we see the announcement tomorrow.

No smoke or fire here, just thunderstorms and 80 kmh winds.

I can still see Jarome. +1 on feeling awful for him, it's just so tilting that he can't realize what's going on. Hopefully time will turn that around.

Just heard that either tomorrow morning or Wednesday at the latest.
Winnipeg to play in the South East Division for 2011/12 season until the NHL decides weather they should move Detroit, Columbus or Nashville to the East for 2012/13 .

FYP .

Really hope the announcement is tomorrow. They've dragged this on way too long already.

Thomson is also a minority owner of the Montreal Canadiens, isn't that a conflict of interest?

Like I said, It was going to happen. Just a week later.
prices for seasons tickets compared to Toronto lol I am sure they will be gone in no time. Notice how they did not use the leafs, habs or nucks as a comparison.

These guys are big players here with unlimited resources and very smart.
Not sure if Thompson has any part of the Canadiens but the BC lions and Toronto Argos (CFL) are owned by the same dude.

Can't see any reason why the Board of Governors would reject this deal either.
Not to poke any fun at the Thrashers fans but if you were watching this on TV you could see the thousands of fans at the forks cheering. A lot more than 300 or so at Phillips Arena for their rally to keep the team.

I hope that Quebec City gets their team back too.

Point being Atlanta had no prospective serious buyers. Atlanta Spirit pretty much had to sell the team. Not sure but I don't think the city wanted to cough up any money like Glendale has.
Ownership in Atlanta was not that great anyway. If anyone is to blame it's them.
It will be interesting to see also how much of the management will be kept on for next season.
