I know this is very GOCB/casualfan, but you've gotta think that the off-ice rumours make a lot more sense now. Carter and Richards weren't saints, maybe that dressing room was more severely fractured than we'll ever be privvied to know. And no, I'm not saying this to be facetious.

DGB is funny, but he is way off on this one. People way, way overestimate the effect of 'being hamstrung by the cap'. If there are multiple teams interested in what you're selling, that effect doesn't exist.

i don't get it, why would you do this with chris pronger around? i mean, they're building a hell of a core for 3-4 years from now, but then if they're signing bryzgalov, what's the point?

That's a good point. Why are you trading for a bunch of young players who haven't yet reached their potential when Pronger and Timonen are near their last years as true top pairing defenseman and Bryzalov is in his 30's?

I might quit the NHL if I'm a Flyers fan right now. What a mess.

if they just did the richards deal, they would have one of the most promising cores and would still have carter around and could sign bryzgalov

nur sure why they traded both of them

I mean value wise I like the richards deal more than the carter deal since schenn projects to be awesome too... and simmonds is nice to have.

Man, I'm thrown for a loop on all of this. I just hope it somehow allows Flyers Girl to make some really bad decisions that involve me, her, Crown Royal and a hot tub.

could the flyers be going after brad richards also? that doesn't make sense, does it? could they trade carle and go after someone like bieksa? i am completely confused

My friend is a die hard Kings fan and he doesn't like the deal for M. Richards. i kinda like it, but I'm a Ducks fan. Carter trade to CBJ is meh, absolutely important PHI get a contributor with number 8 pick.

Guess it's time for a new jersey.. I thought all I was going to have to do was remove the "C" this year but now I'm in the market for a Giroux jersey I guess
