so i think he's screwed. especially if the islanders appeal to the league saying that nabokov owes them the year of the contract, he's never playing in the nhl again unless it's in long island
I don't think the NMC affects anything. The Isles can technically trade him, but he'd have to pass waivers first, so any team willing to trade for Nabokov would just claim him.

Don't punish the masses because of the actions of an unselect few.

That thing is awesome. If it means I can miss 1 less minute of hockey instead of standing in the beer line its a winner. If it's cost effective this thing is sure to be the standard at venues everywhere in no time.

All the NMC does is require that he give permission before they waive/trade him. I suspect that won't be a problem for him.

Geddy, I just saw the clip of Erik Johnson scoring in his own net. Does Calgary always use that Barbra Streisand song for a goal song?

Has anyone looked at home/away splits for zone start? My guess is that you see a larger disparity at home.

Anyone want to make some bets on the All-star team draft tonight? I'm not sure how it would work, but I'll come up with something fun.

I can't think of anything good. Maybe we each pick a handful of players see whose players get picked the earliest? That sounds kind of lame.

1-1 odds on whether sedins get selected to the same team.

If anyone wants to do a fantasy draft we need 4 people do it.

Each draft 5 forwards, 2 defense, 1g.

We would do it rotisserie style based on.

G
A
+/-
PIM
PPP
SOG
SH%
GWG - 2 points.

Goalies would be ranked.

GA
SV
SV%

With 4 people, first places for each category would get 4 points, 3 points, etc, etc.

Code:
F: A. Kopitar, LAK D: B. Burns, MIN
F: A. Ovechkin, WSH D: D. Boyle, SJS
F: B. Richards, DAL D: D. Byfuglien, ATL
F: C. Giroux, PHI D: D. Keith, CHI
F: C. Perry, ANA D: E. Karlsson, OTT
F: D. Backes, STL D: K. Letang, PIT
F: D. Sedin, VAN D: K. Yandle, PHX
F: D.Briere, PHI D: M. Staal, NYR
F: H. Sedin, VAN D: S. Weber, NSH
F: J. Skinner, CAR D: Z. Chara, BOS
F: J. Toews, CHI
F: L. Eriksson, DAL
F: M. Duchene, COL
F: M. Havlat, MIN
F: P. Elias, NJD G: C. Price, MTL
F: P. Kessel, TOR G: C. Ward, CAR
F: P. Sharp, CHI G: H. Lundqvist, NYR
F: P. Stastny, COL G: J. Hiller, ANA
F: R. Nash, CBJ G: M. Fleury, PIT
F: S. Stamkos, TBL G: T. Thomas, BOS
Reverse snake. (1-4)(4-1)(4-1)(1-4)(4-1)(1-4)(4-1)(1-4)

$25 a person - $100 winner take all? Anyone down.

wh1t3g00s3 outed as Eric Staal

Quote:
ROUND 1

Staal -- Cam Ward (G)

Sidney Crosby was my first pick in our second mock draft, but he's not attending so my only option was to keep my promise. Going with a goaltender first overall probably is not the ideal move for an All-Star Game, but I said I'd do anything to get Cam on my team and winning the coin flip made this decision simple.
although his Round 2 choice contradicts it pretty hard.

Quote:
ROUND 2

Staal -- Alex Ovechkin (W)

Can't have Sid, so I'll just take Alex. If only this weren't happening in fantasy land. Someone on our conference call with the media the other day asked Mike Green if he was going to try to convince me to pick Ovi. Yeah, like Greenie had to say anything.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that defenseman Matt Walker has been assigned to the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

OH HAPPY DAYS

I love whenever they use the term "elite numbers like x'n'y year red wings and last years hawks. Guess what fellas you were running good and won the cup thats what it is all about.

The Flyers are better than you and it makes you sad, but really... u mad?

I'd be willing to bet on Staal drafting Ward-Staal-Skinner as his top 3 in any order at like +2000, but I don't have stars or ftp so this is pretty much irrelevant
