I'm pretty sure this is the first time two coaches from the same team have finished 1-2 in Coach of the Year voting.

Wow, terrible choice. Easily the worst MVP since Tomlinson in 2006. When is the media gonna finally get over their giant boner for running backs? If you wanted to go non-QB, JJ Watt was the perfect candidate. Might have had the best season ever by a DE which is about a 15x more important position than RB.

how many yards does a replacement level RB run for in Minnesota, iggy?

how many games does Minnesota win with a replacement level RB?

AP had a pretty epic year. IDK, how many games the Vikings win without AP, maybe 4-6? Adding Kalil was big this year. Ponder definitely sucks though.

Manning is worth like 5 games in comparison to a replacement level QB (Tebow).

But he came close to breaking a record in a league designed to break records at an exponential pace! That means something!

As far as I remember MLB MVP is usually pretty good. They don't punk out like the NBA and get it completely wrong all the time like the NFL.

Also worth +273 in point differential.

If MVP was given on purely who won the most games it would be a QB every single year. That wouldn't be much fun. Agree someone like JJ Watt should get a look though. Rather than MVP it should be who most dominated their position in a given year. Put like that Watt and AP are both reasonable choices.

Manning is worth -1 playoff games over a replacement level QB(Tebow)

Obviously I'm not suggesting a punter should be league MVP just because they have the GOAT punter season, but there needs to be recognition of players in fairly important positions (like DE, LB, RB etc) rather than the award being like "well Manning was 5% better than Brady this year, so he wins".

Most years I would agree with ya'll, but not this year.

Manning took a team good enough to have almost gotten Tebow to a Superbowl and made it somewhat better. Peterson took a team bad enough to have had the 3rd worst record in the NFL and took it to the playoffs.

I'm going to be in the minority here but they should change the awards completely. Let the MVP be player and coach voted, and then have the press award best qb, best rb, best wr, best oline, etc for every position. But I guess that's sort of what the all pro team is. just think breaking it down some what would be better
