Omg nath, I can't believe you missed out on Kelly Gregg. Epic mistake. He is what your defense needed to jump from ridiculous to all-time great.

I've been out, so no research on this one. I've been sitting on this pick for a few rounds and probably could continue to do so since he isn't even technically a starter:

I'm taking Cameron Wake, DE.

Yes, I'm taking a 28yo who was an NFL rookie this season and has 1 career start. Wake was drafted in '05 but subsequently released. Until the beginning of this year he was playing in Canada.

Wake drew NFL attention by winning the Canadian version of DPOY in back to back seasons while racking up 39 sacks in, well, I don't even know how many games they play per season.

He ended up signing with the Dolphins and did such a good job of getting after QBs that by the end of the year the dude who fights OLmen in Vegas was complaining about the PT he was losing to Wake.

In 167 snaps this season Wake had 5.5 sacks, 7 QB hits and 20 pressures. That means he basically harassed opposing QBs at the ridiculous rate of once in every 5 plays. On a per-snap basis I believe he was the most effective pass rusher in the NFL by PFF's count.

Pass rushers have been picked over pretty heavily at this point so I'm pretty sure Wake is far and away the best one left, even if he is a bit of a gamble and now my oldest player. Oh, and he's like 6-3, 250 or something. I don't know if he can play run defense or not, I'll figure that out later.

QB Cassel

WR Baby Fitz
WR Beaston

LT Stewart
LG Herremans
C Kalil
RG Sitton

LE Edwards
DT Okoye
RE Wake

CB Revis
CB Thomas

so again, i either a) can send my pick to someone here, or b) will pick around 1pm, which i assume is okay as 1-10am is a dead spot, and i get 3 hours starting at minimum 10am..

i'm out in about 5 minutes probably..

Ok, they play 16 games/season in Canada. He had 16 sacks in '07 and 23 in '08. '07 was DROY and DPOY and '08 was DPOY. He was also named to the CFL all-decade team even though he only played two seasons there.

He may be listed as LB but the Dolphins mostly had him rushing out of a 3-point stance on passing downs. He was a 4-3 end in the CFL.

He is a physical trainer and was famous in Canada for his ridiculous workout regime. He ran a 4.55 40 coming out college and has a ups:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2zk_hiMoVk

Basically he is a freak with a never-ending motor which is exactly what I'm looking for at DE. I think there is a good chance he starts for the Dolphins next year but I don't know how well he is going to work as a 3-4 OLB. He apparently isn't good in coverage.

Fun story though. Not sure which side each of my ends is going to line up. The reason I'm currently thinking Ray on the left side is that I think he's probably the stronger run defender and TT playing primarily RCB should be able to help out a some on Wake's side.

Round 12 Pick 350
Hines Ward, WR

Yes, he's getting to be old. However, 95 catches for 1,167 yards and 6 td's this year should temper that a bit. Hines is the kind of player that makes a team better. He does the little things, is a team leader, and gives this offense a chain-mover who likes going over the middle and contact.

In light of the run on tight ends, this offense desperately needed someone to be Romo's best friend. Also, mentoring Mario is huge.

I've said several times this team is shooting for the title right now, and this pick obviously reflects that.

Team So Far:

QB: Tony Romo

HB: Deangelo Williams

WR: Mario Manningham
WR: Hines Ward

LT: Mike Oher
RT: Phil Loadholt

DE: Dwight Freeney
DT: Sione Pouha

LB: Jarret Johnson
MLB: Kirk Morrison
LB: Keith Rivers

DB: Charles 'DPOY' Woodson

Yeah Ward is the guy who made more sense than Driver, simply for the fact that he's played with Big Ben his whole career.

Yeah you know I think I meant to take Ward instead of Henderson, but I've been kinda rushing through these later picks. Whatever, Kolb will run the PA and wind up and fire to MoMas or DVH and get 50 yards a play.

Looks like my team is going to have fun out there.

Brett Favre

He's a man, he's 40, and he's still one of the best QBs in the NFL. Had no idea where he should go in this draft, but my entire strategy basically falls apart if I don't get him. Favre is still a stud and is immune to aging, so I expect him to play at a high level for another 8-10 years at least.

The Retirement Center:
QB Brett Favre
WR Randy Moss
WR Lee Evans
TE Tony Gonzalez
LT Michael Roos
LG Logan Mankins
C Todd McClure

DE Aaron Kampman
DT Haloti Ngata
DE John Abraham
MLB EJ Henderson
CB Champ Bailey

I don't know **** about O-Linemen so I'm gonna be a homer. With this pick (whatever number) we're picking Chilo Rachal out of THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

He's only 23 and PFF thinks he's pretty good the last two years. Anyways I'm really picking him cause he has an awesome personality.

Here is Chilo after he signed to play for USC:

"You're not ready to swim with the big fish, you're still just a guppy", starting offensive guard Chilo Rachal quipped at super freshman Everson Griffen after Griffen was beaten handily on the previous play.

My original strategy was to draft one of the older QB's later and play to win it all in the 1st season, but that was before Alex Smith fell to round 11. I think it's a totally legit strategy, and you have the offense to pull that off in year one.

chilo was ****ing horrible at the beginning of the season but played quite well in the second half. i think the knock on him coming out of college was that he was very raw so there's reason to believe he can continue to play well.

I was going to take Chilo w/ a late round pick, hope he continues his second half performance into next season. As phildo said he was abysmal to start off the year but the whole 9er line was bad
