Not sure Kaep and Foles belong on this list, but Rodgaahs, Luck and Cam all seem to be some combination of the top 3 assets over the next 8 years. Then give me BB I think

Either. Foles has less than one year at an unsustainable rate of production in a new system. Give DCs an offseason to work and him a full work load and we'll see. I'm not taking him over ARod, Luck, or Cam ever. Kaep is sort of the same except I think he's solidly below the top tier of young QBs. That's not to say he's bad, just that he's not in that elite group.

non zero chance Deion Branch is acting as a double agent under BB's orders

There is no coach that is more valuable than franchise QBs, especially a coach on the wrong side of 60.

Peyton and other elite QBs are obv >> elite coaches.

Elite coaches are still prob the 2nd best asset u can have tho.

And lol at ppl who got trolled by Clarks "does it predict super bowls" comment. Predicting wins and predicting super bowls is nearly the same thing, looking at SBs just drastically ramps up the variance.

Alright, I seem to be on my own on this one. Maybe colored by rooting for a team with elite QB to go with GOAT coach for a decade, I dont know.

he doesn't just sit there on the shadow roster and suddenly slip between BB's grasp. Colts - buyer beware.

Hard to determine one without the other. I guess lol 11-5 year against LOL soft schedule or this season proves it...or does it?

Branch wasnt on the Pats shadow roster. He's a local Indy guy and the Colts need a practice body since Heyward-Bey got hurt. They worked him out earlier in the season, mine as well sign the veteran who has played a million playoff games (with your opponent, for good measure).

He doesnt play ST so he wont be active, either the other WR called up from the practice squad or some other ST will be.

I was also combining coaching and personnel decision acumen in my thinking, which probably isnt the right way to do it.

I know, but you just ruined a good narrative. Buzzkill.

Ray Horton becoming the Vikings head coach would be amazing.

How many elite coaches win championships without elite qbs? Seems coaching can only take you so far.

Not many. BB, Walsh, Lombardi, etc. all had SOMEone at the QB position.

I just hate that everyone tries to distinguish success between BB and Brady. They made each other better. Why can't people just accept that?

Playing at home is that advantage. Playing 1/3 fewer games in order to win the championship is an unfair advantage. What other sport does this??

Nope, disagree. Why should the advantage of dominating the regular season be so small? The NFL is so high-variance that winning the regular season *should* confer a significant advantage in the Super Bowl tournament.

there is no coach in football worth more than a dominant quarterback. even if BB were 50 i'd still take the top 10 qbs over the rest of his career if i had to choose one or the other. i cite as evidence the litany of dog**** coaches who have super bowl rings or have been to the super bowl

a great qb with a ****ty coach is far more likely to get to the super bowl than a great coach with a ****ty qb ainec
