NFL 2020 SEASON-LONG PEEHS NFL 2020 SEASON-LONG PEEHS

09-02-2020 , 12:21 PM
If you thought 2020 couldn't get any worse, you're wrong! THE NFL PEEHS GAME IS BACK!

The 2020 season is slated to kick off in eight days, so it's time for me to get off my rear end and get the game in motion. This is the ninth-straight season for the best game on 2p2, and my eighth for running it. Let's take a trip down memory lane.....

Jeremy517/nath era
The 2012 game (20 entrants) won by gusmahler

KrazyKris era
The 2013 game (51 entrants) co-won by alwarde4 and DrunkIrish05

The 2014 game (70 entrants) won by chim17

The 2015 game (86 entrants) won by chuckleslovakian

The 2016 game (97 entrants) won by pokergrader

The 2017 game (95 entrants) won by Searix

The 2018 game (81 entrants) won by MrWookie

The 2019 game (81 entrants) won by MaqEvil

There will again be 25 questions, but 15 will be about the regular season, and 10 more about the end of the year. And we'll have 13 team questions, and 12 individual questions. Plus, there are notes in the 2 end-of-season questions about playoff teams.

And I've tried to phrase things differently in the event the full 256-game schedule isn't completed.

RESEARCH IS 100% ALLOWED AND ENCOURAGED

Do whatever reading you feel comfortable with before submitting. However, if your entry contains [former D.C.-area team nickname] or [former Raiders home] or [Peyton Manning's brother], you will get slapped with.....

THE CLUB IS BACK FOR 2020! DON'T JOIN!

SCORING
This is PEEHS (and only PEEHS). The winner(s) will have the lowest total score after all 25 questions have been scored and revealed. PEEHS rewards those of you that submit correct answers guessed by as few entrants as possible.

Once again this year, incorrects will be scored as (SHEEP score for that question) + (# of different correct answers submitted for that question). A question's SHEEP can be correct, incorrect, or in the event of multiple SHEEPs, both.

ENTRIES
Anyone can play simply by sending me a PM with your entry. I accept both numbered and non-numbered entries, but please single-space your submission.

Entries will close on Thursday September 10th, once the Texans and Chiefs kickoff from Kansas City. As is normally the case, I'm expecting a wave of entries in the days leading up to the opener. Here is my procedure as the 10th nears:

1) NO NEW ENTRIES OF ANY KIND once the Texans and Chiefs begin their game, but you can make as many revisions to existing entries as needed.

2) If you submit close to (but before) the opener begins, and I respond to you after the game starts (to tell you that you need an edit), then you still have the chance to edit and resubmit (but you've lost the chance to submit Houston- or Kansas City-related answers).

All entries will be locked and stand as submitted once the Week 1 early games start. This will be at 1:00 PM Eastern on Sunday September 13th.

KRAZYKRIS
I am playing for the seventh-consecutive season. JMurder3 has once again agreed to be my verifier (despite the lot of you that think it's unnecessary). I'll win one of these years!

Cheers to JM3!

Please ask away in the thread or shoot me a quick PM if something isn't clear. Good luck to each and every entrant!

NOTES ABOUT QUESTIONS 20 AND 21
For 2020, the NFL is expanding from 12 playoff teams to 14. With these 2 end-of-season questions, I had designed them to always have the same # of potential correct answers (i.e. 5 new playoff teams means they replaced 5 teams).

Therefore, in order to keep that pattern intact this year, the "#7 seeds" in each conference from 2019 (Rams in the NFC and Steelers in the AFC) will be treated as if they made the playoffs last year. This is specific to these 2 questions only, and I'm only doing it to the keep the "balance" between 20 and 21.

Hopefully that makes sense to everyone.

If the season gets suspended due to the rona, are we suspending the game, or do shot callers who answer the question appropriately in that scenario marked correct?

Haven't posted on 2p2 in several months. Haven't cared to.

But I care deeply about this PEEHS. I will always come back for it. Always. Probably even after death.

I don't know about this wording.

"#10 - Name a team in the Top 10 for Points For through every team's first 10 games"

You won't be able to reveal this until after week 11, as most teams won't have played their first 10 games by the end of week 10.

You got the question before that right, but some of the earlier ones have the same problem.

Edit - Also your Thanksgiving question is a week early.

I don't think it's a mistake. He's wording them that way to protect against cancelled/postponed games.

note KK doesn't say 'week 1, week 2' etc., he's phrased it as Q1, Q2, etc. obviously KK is trying to hedge against canceled games and there's a reasonable chance we won't get the weekly reveals we grown accustomed to.
extraordinary times require extraordinary solutions.

Just to clarify - questions 12 and 13 are about top 10 performances for all games played before December 15, right? as there probably won't be any games played "on" December 15, and rescheduling a game to occur on a Tuesday is almost inconceivable...

For question 9, I assume that for purposes of determining the "top 10 margins of victory in every teams first 8 games" a game which was one teams 9th game and their opponents 8th game would be included. If this happened, would this be a correct or incorrect choice for a person selecting the team where this happened in their 9th game? For example, suppose I picked the New York Giants (no bye in first 9 weeks) and after 8 weeks they had a 27 point loss that was the 10th biggest margin of victory game after 8 weeks, but then in week 9 they had a 28 point victory over Washington Football Team. Would this make my choice of the Giants incorrect? Since this would only be Washington Football Team's 8th game, the Giants' 27 point loss would no longer in top 10 margin of victory, but since they big victory came in their 9th game, maybe it shouldn't count for them.

Sorry for the delays folks.

My entry is now submitted to JM3. Tonight, I will begin collating everyone's submissions, and answering all the questions posed in this thread.

Hopefully, if time permits, I will also PM everyone that played last year, as a reminder. Both 2018 and 2019 had 81 entrants, but I can't see the 2020 version reaching that number.
