QB: Peyton Manning (Vick = cheating)
Hat-tip Kurt Warner, the St Louis years. Warner to Holt was unstoppable for awhile.

RB: Trung Canidate
What was he, like 97 speed and 99 acc. in a late round pick? Can't beat that.

FB: Larry Centers
In '01 or so swing routes to Centers were unstoppable

WR: Randy Moss
After that, anyone tall and slow. Drew Bennett, Brian Finneran and Malcom Floyd come to mind. I also featured many teams w/ Todd Heap or Jeremy Shockey as my #1 WR. Dwayne Jarrett w/ high CiT and Spec. catch for a few years.

TE: Antonio Gates
OL: No one stands out.

LE: Takeo Spikes
DT: Trevor Pryce
DT: Kris Jenkins
RE: Sean Merriman

When they first started letting you switch players' positions on defense I'd have most of my defense playing out of position. I'd always have 2MLBs with one playing OLB, OLBs would always become ends. Moving Pryce from DE to DT was clutch. Bonus points when you could move someone to the other side of the ball effectively.

OLB: LaVarr Arrington
MLB: Brian Urlacher
OLB: Rod Smart (91 speed, 50+ tackle!)

CB: Champ Bailey, LDO
CB: Gary Baxter
CB: Nate Clements
CB: Chris Houston
CB: DeAngelo Hall

I want Champ Bailey, Champ Bailey Jr. (early Hall) or someone who can jam for days)

FS: Sean Taylor
SS: Adrian Wilson

In the years he was on the game, there was no player I drafted more consistently than Sean Taylor. Other than Vick (cheating) I think Taylor may have been the GOAT player in Madden. I might be biased somewhat because I always controlled the FS on defense but I can't think of another player who came close to Taylor in standing out from the competition wrt important Madden ratings for their position.

Oh, and GOAT Madden intro:

Quote:
Maaaaaaaaan, get out my way and watch out as I come through
Bustin’ in your line, crackin’ helmets in two
I bring the pain, so what’cha gone do?
Stand there and just get shook out your shoes
So clean out your locker, I’m out to get’cha
Cuz I just popped ya, you can’t take the pressure
You might as well quit, cuz you just can’t last
Madden two thou put your face in the grass
And your spine in the dirt, so put on a skirt
If you step on the field and don’t wanna get hurt
Just bruised and beaten, all black and blue
And it’s been like that since madden ’92

You better come harder than hard, rougher than rough
Put up your guard, get ready to crush
It’s thangs on this field that you just can’t change
E.a. sports, it’s in the game, what’cha want?
(the rock in the palm of my hands!!!)
What’cha got? (I got john madden!!!!)
What’cha want?
(the rock in the palm of my hands!!!)
What’cha got? (I got john madden!!!!)
What’cha want?
(the rock in the palm of my hands!!!)
What’cha got? (I got john madden!!!!)
What’cha want?
(the rock in the palm of my hands!!!)
What’cha got? (I got john madden!!!!)

WRT Madden

Polamalu is pretty unreal this year, and Mario Williams the last couple years is always the guy I take first but I generally play DE on defense.

I pretty much always end up with Chris Houston on my team if I do Madden Drafts.

Also Devin Hester.

I'm getting pumped for the Anquan Boldin sweepstakes. I'd be over the moon if the Fins land him.

Anything but the Ravens please. That makes so much sense for both sides and he fits their culture so well... But he's one of my favorite players. I really don't want to hate the guy or have to see him twice a year.

NO! RAVENS PLEASE!

He fits their culture?

Basically his on-field attitude seems similar to Ray Lewis'.

That is why Q is one of my favorite players as well. He clearly has a screw loose, hopefully not one of the ones that holds his face together though.

Giants cut Antonio Pierce.

He was only like a 75 OVR, but he had like low 80's speed (pretty much unheard of at the time), 90s catch rating, and most importantly was 6'7" was a 99 jump rating. Pretty much undefendable on jump balls. Between Johnson and Randy Moss, the Raiders were the sickest Madden team.

Haha, I completely forgot about him. What year was that? I definitely know what you're talking about. I'm guessing it was Madden '04 or so and yes he was certainly a staple late round pick for a year or two.

According to teyojohnson.com, he played for the Raiders in 03-04.

Or even Derrick Mason, I just mean he's a guy who chooses to initiate contact rather than avoid it. He fits the Steelers culture as well but I don't think we're interested in a big name receiver.

Not unexpected. Smart decision. Old, injury prone not at the top of his game: yeah he had to go. Bringin' in Karlos Dansby!

In like Madden '94 or Madden64, I cant remember which one, there was a glitch on one of the 3rd string QBs that when he slid he slid for like 15 yards and couldn't be tackled when he was sliding. I was a child when I figured this out so I cant remember who or what team it was. Anyone remember this?

Apparently the Bengals have learned their lesson and are making moves for a more wholesome locker room by offering Matt Jones a contract, bringing in Pacman Jones for a workout and expressing interest in Donte Stallworth.

Terrell Brown was extended during the season and should be a good nickel and when Clements was in he was good..although I'm not sure if he'll e retained. Bly was also pretty good. I know Haden in the first has been rumored for this team before he shot up the boards but I think an upgrade at CB is a luxury more than a need right now.

Goldson looks like he has potential and might be a keeper. Lewis is the guy I want shelved or waived.
clements is rumored to play safety this next year, but he can play corner as well. i would see if haden falls(which i doubt), but in the second round look at best available for corner or safety. dre bly was not good either

Read somewhere that Singletary would be keeping Clements at CB.

read on ESPN that Torry Holt wants to be a Bear ..... although thats great to have him teach the WR's Martz's offense, it may be wasted opportunity to get a marquee WR

as an eagles fan:

Trade McNabb
Trade Vick
Start Kolb
02-12-2010 , 10:08 PM
Holt is finished. Knees are so bad, Rams legend

New Miami wish list:

Boldin, Dansby and Terrence Cody.

Super awesome will never happen but lets wish anyway list:

Wilfork - Vince has made noise about loving Miami. I think if he were let go it would be a high possibility he comes here. Shame the chances of NE not tagging him are about 0.
02-15-2010 , 05:11 PM
so i hear mcnabb is on the trading block, which has reminded me how much disdain i've gained for eagles fans in the last few years. so much bitching and moaning about him being a choker,or sucking, or not being elite, and w/e else. if they get rid of him maybe they will realize how underappreciated he was when they spend a few years trying to find and average qb
