doesn't every draft pick have non-superstar potential?

yeah, plus i bet Andy Reid is the type of guy who wouldn't change his playbook even though he just traded his star QB to a team that plays them twice a year

Excited to see the Kolb era begin in Philly. I think he'll do just fine this year.

apparently the skins offered haynesworth straight up for mcnabb and the eagles said no

I feel like I have spent way too much time talking about this on these boards but I disagree here. He was pretty much a league average QB year with a terrible O-line, terrible WR's, no running game, and good TE's. People like Assani can go on about how he has no pocket presence and whatnot, but all the non subjective data says he was pretty average with way below average weapons. It was also his 5th year in a different offensice system, and he was going to finally get stabilty and a good coaching staff. I think teams like Arizona and Cleveland would have been very interested in his services had they thought he would not be the starter this year. I don't want to go on and on about this, but Cambell gets too much hate.

I also like this situation for Donovan a lot. I think he is better off in Washington than Minni because the expectations will be much lower. If he takes a recentley futile franchise with a crazy loyal fanbase back to the playoffs it will be another nice notch on his resume. I don't think he is good enough to make teams TOP contenders, but he he is probably good enough to make bad team pretty good. Obviously if he every gets a SB his career resume will be pretty complete, but this affords him the chance to legitimatley add to his resume without winning a SB which I think is nice for him. He deserves that given how little respect he has gotten over the last decade.

Because you might not be the only team that wants him? Unless you Jedi mind trick him into signing with you he could end up somewhere else.

Obvious play is for the Rams to go after him.

Suh/McCoy + Campbell >>> Bradford + 6th round draft pick.

campbell is easily worth at least a 4th or 5th round pick

i'm sure they wanted to get nowhere near his contract

Reid also seems like a dude who isn't interested in anyone who remotely seems like a head case

This is bizarre seeing as last year he had a 64.5% completion rate at 7.1 y/a. His career Int rate is good and his sack rate isn't back considering his Oline. There is a good chance hes a league average QB (no chance hes a very good to great QB).

I agree. But I would guess only Buff and STL and Buf seems completely lost so STL might be able to steal him.

Mike Shanahan looked at Donovan McNabb and saw John Elway. In 1995, Shanahan took the Denver coaching job and inherited a quarterback who couldn't win the big one, who'd gotten stale, who'd lost the faith of the locals in Denver to deliver a Super Bowl. Elway, then 35, went on to play four years for Shanahan and win two Super Bowls. In 2010, Shanahan takes the Washington coaching job and deals for a quarterback who couldn't win the big one, who'd gotten stale, who'd lost the faith of the locals in Philadelphia to deliver a Super Bowl. McNabb is 33. He wants to play at least four more years.

Rams cut Bluger.
04-05-2010 , 05:03 PM
I'm surprised it took them this long. I assume they were trying to shop him around, and couldn't find a taker.

Arizona should sign Bulger, just for symmetry.

I'd read a few places that Bulger was mulling retirement, maybe the Rams were willing to let him retire a Ram but he decided against it.

Won't Bulger have to go to the Giants first?

I think he means in the sense that they would now have a right hander with a limp noodle and a left hander with a limp noodle.

Crucial sample size of 1, from 15 years ago. Relevant stuff.

with a group of players that were already way closer to winning than the skins are

marc bulger was actually pretty decent when he had offensive talent around him, he could probably put up similar numbers in AZ like he did in STL (when they were good on offense).
