There are 9/11 theories I give more credence to than this.

Trust me, I understand that there's always a counter offer in these deals, but I'm told that the Bama president does not want to get in a bidding war against Texas because she doesn't want it to seem like Bama is a semi-pro team. Again, this is the academic's mindset at work.
Whew.

Yeah it's getting so old. We've been to only 3 different bowl games in the last 6 years. Back in 2010 and 2011 we had a home-and-home with Washington AND played them in our bowl game between the two seasons. Total AIDS.

Well my lawnmower isn't in flight, but I'll admit the hangar doors were opening until I saw that "$20m in the hole to LSU and Bama alums" thing.

I'll sleep fine tonight.

Question is will Texas open the vault to keep Kirby Smart with Saban or will he be the successor at Alabama
NCAA Football Coaching Carousel Quote
12-10-2013 , 11:17 PM
imo infinitely better to give smart the reins at Bama than roll the dice on an external hire

Would be pretty sick if Saban was just making up the $20MM in the hole story to get a **** pile of money out of UT

I think OU alumni will pitch in to keep Saban at Alabama.

But lots of competition. Texas is more like Florida. Power gonna rotate between Florida/FSU/Miami at various points, in Texas, moving between Aggies, UT, Baylor, TCU.

Texas has way better chance than ND/Michigan at getting back to prominence as other places wane.

Clay Travis ‏@ClayTravisBGID 18m
So @ChipBrownOB says on @FOXSports1 Texas's top three are Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and Mike Tomlin.

This is going to be way too much fun.

Urban to Texas would be better than Saban to Texas except that as an Auburn fan I want Saban gone but for maximum lols it couldn't get better than tOSU losing their coach to Texas.

Sexton probably has a lot to do with many of the legitimate sounding stories you hear leaked about this. I've seen it over and over again. Tuberville duck hunting in Arkansas is one example. He is the puppet master.

The week before the SECCG, SI writer and notorious Auburn hater Pete Thamel released an article about Malzahn once telling an unnamed source that Texas was his dream job. Supposedly, Malzahn was furious and called Sexton. Sexton told him he was just playing the game. Malzahn told him to knock it off and to get him a fair market contract before the SECCG so it wouldn't be a distraction to the team or recruiting. Malzahn signed a 3.85 M extension, a lot less than he could have gotten, especially if he had waited for Sexton to crank up the Texas rumor mill.

If Saban was down 20M to alums I doubt that would be a secret at this point among Bama fans.
