Louisville beating kentucky wouldn't have mattered

FSU looking amazing last couple games maybe would have, though not sure who they replace.

Yeah but losing to them did. Just win games against cupcakes and you're in. ACC couldn't even do that

Of course it did, but as indicated the losing hurt.

There’s a big swing between barely beaten a weakened Louisville vs more easily handling a top ten Louisville

I think Texas would have been in trouble if their game was close and FSU won a top 10 battle

Funny story, UW is #1 in Colley https://www.colleyrankings.com/currank.html
Seven top 50 wins is a lot.

Ah, the early part of portal season, where thousands of kids have entered the portal but almost none of landed anywhere yet, so every team is in despair

They wouldn't be allowed to play anyway, right?

I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to move the portal date to after bowl season but portal-bound players would probably sit out the bowl game anyway.

Sucks that non-playoff bowl season turned into some kind of preseason.

Yeah, transfers for sure cannot play in the bowl game.

There were some arguments for doing just that, actually - moving the bowl games all the way to the beginning of next season. I don't like it though, they're still a great send-off for seniors, and a chance for guys who have been riding the bench all year to show their stuff, and for fans to travel somewhere nice during the holiday.

the lower tier bowls are still just as great as they always were - Cal fans are just stoked to go bowling for the first time in four years

All the damage is done to the best bowls which are just short of the playoff - i.e. FSU and Georgia might not even be bothered to show up

one of the bowl game benefits is getting to run the younger players through a few more weeks of organized practice.
assuming they'll be there next year to benefit

Hi. My friends call me Cowboy. I'm addicted to college football. Currently watching with great fervor the Furman v Montana match up. Got a decent chunk of my net worth on Montana. Lucky for me it's only low 2 figures. Pray for me. And if I've ever wronged you in the past, I apologize.

I would rather watch a bowl game between redshirt frosh and backups fighting to stay on the team than guys trying not to risk their draft stock. The one exception is probably the qb play without the chemistry.

FWIW, Princeton football claims 28 national championships and the NCAA recognizes 15 of them. They've been #2 all time behind Yale until Alabama passed them with their last title.

Fun fact: their first recognized title in 1869 they had a 1-1 record. I think those are the first two American Football games recognized by the NCAA?

I don't really handicap games anymore. I just mash buttons to give me a reason to watch the game.

Back in the mid nineties, I thought I could become a professional sports bettor. I quickly learned that 11 is bigger than 10.

'National' champion goes .500 in its own region.
