CHET is on TV tonight

I think they had to change their opponent, so instead of playing some high profile squad full of elite talent, Chet and his team will be facing ... Stewartville.

The city of Stewartville has a population of 6,120.

At least they have Will Tschetter, a 3* committed to Michigan. He's not the most athletic kid and I think he's only 6'8", so good luck Will.

Will probably watch because CHET.

C-Webb is great. Love the guy as an announcer too.

I know it's been said before but mama feed CHET a damn sandwich.

And then another one.

Kid needs 30lb of muscle minimum to be playable as a freshman on the wing.

Also: Master P's kids can play some

Garza is the NPOY.

It's always such a weird thing with Wooden Award and Heisman awards, where when you come in with the highest preseason expectations, you suddenly have a higher bar to clear to be considered a "success". Like, even for his insanely lofty expectations, Garza has smashed every individual expectation, and the fact that Iowa isn't as dominant as Gonzaga or Baylor is the only reason people are making it a conversation.

I seriously wish an expert 2+2er could answer this question. How much equity does a typical college basketball team have after getting the rebound under their own basket down 2 with 19 seconds left and no timeouts.

Think about how bad C-Webb ran in his basketball career. He will always be remembered for one play even tho the amount of equity he lit on figure is probably less than what an NFL coach burns almost every game. And he should've had a narrative changing NBA title in 2002 if it wasn't due to crooked refs and probably the worst scandal in NBA history. So sick. I still can't feel sorry for him cuz he's rich but still.

And yeah he's a great announcer cuz you can seriously feel his passion. Dude legit loves what he's doing. And that's all one can ask for. Contrast that with the worst announcing team in sports, Troy and Buck. You can tell it's just a job for them as they go through the motions every game.

A NBA win probability calculator has them at 17.2% to win with 11 seconds and trailing by 2. Seems like it should be higher because even a last second 3 should be at least 20%.

Even if CHET is a bust, at the very least, he's going to block a ton of shots and hit open pick and pop 3s.

My friend Mark got Final Four tickets through the NCAA lottery the year of the infamous TO. Called me up and asked if I wanted to go. "Yeah!"

Literally three days later, another college friend called to let me know that he was getting married, and I should save the date. Of course, it was the day of the semifinals, so I ended not seeing that game in person.

As a familiar college comparable, if he can put on some muscle I think he could look a lot like Franz Wagner, just 3-4 inches taller.

He'll definitely block some shots, but at his current weight he's going to get shoved under the basket a lot. He'd be most useful as an off-ball weak side rim protector, kinda like how Nate Reuvers would block shots when he played with Ethan Happ on the floor.

Right now I don't even have a lot of confidence in his pick and pop ability, he's so skinny that his picks aren't going to amount to much and between quicker guards and longer big men he may struggle to get his shot off. Again, more strength will be a big help.

I get why he's an elite prospect, he's just not physically there yet.

17% sounds about right.

And the sickest part of this story is they probably got divorced or they ended up staying together and miserable becuz neither had the courage to leave. Marriage is the worst man. It ruins lives and Final Fours.

Fortunately, no. At least I'm told that everyone's good. Kids starting to leave the house and go to college (well, pre-COVID anyway), so they're pretty excited about that.

This might be the first time I've been wrong in this forum.

Now two games in just over a week where Illinois looked like ass against the dregs of the B1G, starting to get concerned that the sum is less than the parts and they just aren't that good. 18 point lead early in the first half, Northwestern can't buy a shot and gets into foul trouble, and you let them close it to 2 with lots of time left in the game. Sad.

Ayo clutch of course but come on, this should have been a walk.

Everyone on Spartys roster is a potential transfer this off-season. The over/under has got to be like 3??

Can't imagine Bingham, Kithier, Marble, Sissoko, Rocket Watts, Gabe Brown, Foster Loyer, and AJ Hoggard are all back.

I'm often reminded by Sparty friends that virtually no players have left East Lansing by transfer during the Izzo era.

It's been great fun repeating that back to them this season. I can sincerely say that I hope the tradition continues.

(Of course I don't volunteer that things are different due to the portal and possible free transfer due to COVID)

No idea if Izzo will nudge anyone out the door, obviously hasn't been his style, but it's hard to see how this collection improves a whole lot.

I just don't see how they can return everyone. Entire roster sucks and the 3 frosh should all play a lot next year.

Izzo proving this year that he'll play the whole roster, plus he hates playing freshmen so no matter how good they are there is a hard cap on the number of minutes they'll be on the floor. Even if he gives them 20 minutes apiece there are plenty of minutes left.

No idea if guys like Kithier are going to be interested in transferring for playing time when he's getting time and there are no bigs coming in. He and Loyer would probably have to step down to the MAC or AAC or something if they want to play. Then you have guys like Bingham and Watts who may just be sick of Izzo, they're both so lost mentally right now. Brown might be in this category too. They're talented enough that a high major would take a flier on them. I can't see Sissoko or Hoggard leaving, neither has much of a resume, though I guess Sissoko at least was a highly rated recruit.

Pretty sure that Langford and Henry won't come back.
