Thanks ligastar! Even though playing against Wichita State has not historically been good to the Pups, I see an early line of Drake -0.5.
Looking to see if they'd set TV time yet, I came across this on KWCH.com (Wichita TV station):

That didn't seem right. Turns out the women's team was 16-11/13-5. Good work on research guys!
If they can win the opener, first round against USC, where one of my good friends went to school, so I imagine we'll have a bet if that comes to pass.
Drake had some success a long time ago (1969 Final Four, competitive against Alcindor's UCLA team), but not much since. 1986 NIT, 2008 NCAA, but many of the years in-between (and a lot since I was there), they were more like 4-8 win seasons.
When they had that good team in 2008, my friend got tickets to the opening rounds in Tampa. Of course we went, figuring we'd never get that experience again. (I think the previous NCAA appearance was 1974 or something).
Great game, even though my team came out on the wrong end. Down something like 16 with 14 minutes left, started raining in shots. Took Western Kentucky to overtime, was up with just a couple seconds left. WKU guy threw in a ~24 footer at the buzzer to win. Tip of the cap, he made a play.
