OT in LA right now, Bledsoe hit a prayer 3 that took 5 bounces before going in to tie.

I'm not so much saying this is better than the 4 firsts (I don't think we have full info on the details of that supposed offer anyway?). I'm just saying, trying to predict how high their ceiling is and worrying this doesn't "do enough" is nonsense. So much can change. KAT could take next step. Wiggins could work it out. Saric is still a rookie he's got scope for improvement. This TZ worry of "capping yourself as a 2nd round exit" or whatever is so misguided. Every non LeBron title of the past ~10 years has been won by a team that a year or two earlier you would have said were capped at that, that had stuff break right. Noone just tanks and then gets all the pieces to fly straight to contender. OKC I guess is only one and they still didn't manage to get one.

WTHell Bud, down 2 with .3 seconds left to play, you have Giannis inbound for a lob to Pat C?

Best big 3 has won the east every year since lebron single handedly carried the 07 cavs.
philly is certainly quite dangerous now, but your last sentence should really just read that lebron kept winning the east. people talk about depth being overvalued wrt playoffs and that's true to a significant degree, but these teams don't have large talent gaps over each other at the top end. have to give real minutes to at least 7 or 8 guys total in the playoffs and the sixers have a massive drop off after their 4th guy. still obv a good trade for them even though butler was wildin out

edit: will be lol if they continue starting fultz

I'm not buying how this makes Philly dangerous or contenders. At full strength this year they have posted a whopping SRS of .71 and a negative net-rating, with Embiid playing at an MVP level. Last year they were sitting at 37-30 before ripping off 15 straight to close the season without Embiid, mainly on the strengths of two guys who aren't there right now catching absolute fire on some thirsty-as-hell 3's.

I think their team this year is somewhere in between the 53 pythag team of last year and the 44 pythag team they have now. So let's say they are a 50 win team with their current roster. Removing RoCo, who not only doesn't need the ball in his hands but was 8th in RPM to JB's 4th, plus losing depth in Saric, where does that put them? Seems like they are quite a bit behind the contenders in the East let alone Golden State.

I understand they have a big 3, but one of those guys is not so big and none of them really seem to fit offensively.... and they are worse on defense.

Trezz + Lou + Beverley was a PRETTY GOOD return for CP3 who they would have lost anyway.

LOL Rockets

well that's b/c you don't think butler is all that good. i was really only talking about them in the context of the east fwiw

Yeah this is pretty LOLMorey for doing the exact same thing Colangelolo did. At least it got them close to a chip before slowly watching it all burn to pieces.

[edit] The move to get CP3 was good, signing him to that deal and then not keeping the team together + MeloMCW is what's LOL)

Not really sure what suns/Igor's fascination with Canaan is. Okobo has looked better imo, especially with setting up an offense and passing.

If Canaan isn't gonna light it up from 3 he's pretty useless.

Dood was right about the Warriors getting Iggy. Just unlucky for him that they hired Kerr/fired MJax & Steph became GOATish. The closest Iggy ever was to prime Iggy with the Woyas was 2014 and they actually regressed from the team they were the year before. The Warriors aren't the Warriors because of the Iggy deal.

Thaythay we can do Boston and Toronto LLs. Hit me up
You can cherry pick outlier examples and I do think that it's more advantageous for teams to wait but I'm thinking like an NBA G.M. And coach who's livelihoods are on the line. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes but people get canned every year in the league even after seemingly successful years.

My point stands. If you see an opportunity to make a push you should probably go for it. Butler is coming up on FA? well they can abandon that ship if it goes terribly. Or just goes mediocre. Guys like Covington and saric are nice but y'all were up in arms about the Celtics getting rid of Jay ****ing Crowder for kyrie Irving. "Crowder is like, the perfect fit next to LeBron " worked out well.

lonzo threw an incredible one-touch pass from the top of the arc to McGee for a dunk.

Then immediately after he left a floater from 5 feet out 1 foot short.

Then he airballed a corner 3, short and to the right.

Fox is crushing him, as he typically does.
