I thought they'd have $32 million in space (which they would if they waited until July 30th to make the AD trade).

If Pelinka completes this trade on July 6th I think we have found the worst GM in NBA history.

I think they get Butler which is the correct decision. Good for Pels too because of his age though.

Kemba would be horrible, said that when the news first broke. I'd go T Harris over him.

Good thing w/ harris is he is only 26 so you can get off him easy in 2 years when you wanna get Paul George or Giannis.

Witness tweets say cop was a dick who ran up and shoved Masai who then gave a big boy FU shove back to the cop who then got butthurt that people stepped in and he didn't get to assault a minority which was the reason he became a cop in the first place so now he wants to press charges, but the DA assuming reasonableness will laugh at and do nothing.

Ideally they would definitely be retaining Bullock, Caldwell-Pope, McGee. And even Rondo

I think theyll give muscala a minimum to not look like aholes for trading for him

Lakers +275
Bucks +400
Raptors +500
76ers +625
Rockets +700
Warriors +1200
Celtics (w/ Kyrie) +2000
Utah (w/ Conley) +2500
Nets (w/ both Kyrie and Butler) +2500

Don't really think anyone else can win the NBA title in 2020 unless an All NBA player changes teams
Warriors too low, Klay will be back in March/April and KD may even be back in March to May(it's ideal to rush back from an achilles as I've noticed those who return quickly end up being better off than those who play it safe)

I think this should not come as a surprise in MAGA's USA #1, but still worth to put out there for anyone (that would somehow be) in doubt :

"Greg Wiener, a season ticket holder who was standing next to the officer, told The Associated Press the police are not telling the truth and are trying to cover up for what the officer did. He said Masai Ujiri never struck the officer in the face or asked for a credential."

Read the last couple pages and am actually pretty frightened for next season. I don’t think USA#105 has the health care system or hospital infrastructure for how absolutely SICK LeBron James haters will be next season when he wins another ring and Finals MVP. I am legitimately concerned for the future of many posters here and wish you all the best.

I think they certainly have the highest floor in the West. But not ceiling compared to LAL if FA goes well.

The way they can just play guys off the floor with their offense just makes them very unlikely to lose to the SA/Utah/Denver/Portland/OKC's of the world. Unless you have overwhelming talent, you really need to construct your team to beat them to be able to do so. And since they aren't the Warriors, no one really is attempting to do that.

Therefore you get great talent for meaningless assets ==> Wow what a sick trade.

The thing is the talent you get costs a lot of money, people age, **** happens and players get injured, and all of that. Having Anthony Davis in the first place didn't exactly make NO contenders.

On the other hand : all those picks can turn into something good, the young players also can. Sure they're not good right now but players are not peaking at 20 years old, that's the mistake people also made with the D'angelo trade.

Like I'm sure people also thought so when they brought in Steve Nash & Dwight : oh wow look at how the talent they're getting and they're only giving away late first round picks, such a great trade! Well guess what : Steve Nash declined because he was old (and so will Lebron), Dwight got injured became a locker room cancer and Kobe tore his achille. Those are things that happen in the NBA

But most importantly all those picks and players = leverage and flexibility going forward. If in 2 years, 36 years old Lebron and injured Anthony David are eating up 60% of the cap and they absolutely need to bring in assets, they have nothing of value to trade.

I guess people are thinking it's LA so they'll get whatever they want the same way they already got Klove, Russ, PG and Kahwi when they were a lock to move to LA.

Trade is like a B for the upcoming one (maybeee two) year. Solid E if you consider the 6 years period. Then it's up to how much you value short term vs long term.

What grades did Pelton give?
This post doesn't make much sense to me. Yes AD can get hurt. Yes it's possible top 5 players get injured. it doesn't mean you avoid getting these guys if you care at all about winning titles, not just being above average team. Comparing peak AD to Dwight and aging Nash is not a good comparison.

Look what asset accumulation did for the Celts, they're like 50% to get out of the 1st rd next year.

You gotta cash in at some point.

I would think AD waives that 4m, that could be the difference between getting a Butler/Middleton and having to piece together the team with roleplayers.

Steve Nash was entering his age 38 season, was a smallish guard, was nowhere near as good as LeBron ever was, and was coming off a season where he averaged 12/3/10 with a -0.5 BPM (lol).

LeBron is entering his age 35 season, has historically been extremely durable, averaged 27/8/8 on 8.1 BPM last season.

Brow is >> Dwight and just because Dwight’s body broke down doesn’t mean you don’t take a shot on a historically elite player. People are so ridiculous, we did the same thing with Kawhi last year (myself included). A guy doesn’t play for a half season or full season and you forget how good the guy is at full strength.

Not counting last season (which we can all agree was a weird outlier), Davis played 410 games his first 6 seasons. Never less than 61 and 75 games each in 2016 and 2017.

Curry played 416 his first 6 seasons.

Last 3 Finals MVPs (regular season games played):

Kawhi Leonard 60 games
Kevin Durant 68 games
Kevin Durant 62 games

Man, I can’t believe the Raptors and Warriors wanted to sign top 5 players in their primes. They totally could have gotten hurt and it would be an unreal disaster if they missed a few regular season games.
