Surprised to see Clippers +1.5 at home vs Denver in a must win game for both teams

figured LAC like -2.5 similar to their line vs Indy last week

How does tanking work for playoff teams? Do you just tell guys not to bother playing D?

The way playoff teams usually tank is scratching top players but both Miami and Washington played guys. Miami reduced minutes but Washington seemed like they tried to win that game.

Philly's road is really shaping up to be as nice as possible if Miami gets #6. Might have HCA the whole way through if Cleveland (4) beats Toronto (1) in rd 2.

Green played very well but that 76ers game is a very bad sign that Lue didn't pay attention at all during the Drew coaching hiatus. They had a ton of success with big lineups, the Nance/Love frontcourt is like +18/100, but apparently he's going with Love/Green as the "big" lineup, with Nance and TT essentially out of the rotation to free up more minutes for Osman and JR Smith.

That's a decent comp but I was gonna say Shaq/Penny magic in '95. Coming back from baseball-MJ w/ no Horace Grant is similar to post-Kyrie/1 foot out the door LeBron and Embiid/Simmons the young lions on the upswing like Shaq/Penny and with good roleplayers around them to boot.

^ Another good comp. Can Philly make the Finals, the way OKC and Orlando did in your comps? Well...

This is basically an auto-bid to the EC Finals, then have home court against a mediocre Cleveland team perhaps banged up by Indiana and Toronto...Philly at 10/1 to win the East is looking mighty tasty...

idk about the cavs general lineups but i assumed nance was glued to the bench b/c they got destroyed for the short period he played and then they made the comeback w/o him. seems like nance should generally be their guy at center though.

also is nance love even really a big lineup?

They opened as either a pickem or -1, and have been bet down to LAC+2.5 at some books. Denver has not covered in their last three games... I'm pretty shocked as well. I didn't watch the Utah game but did the Clippers just look defeated or something? They played like maniacs at the end of the SAS game.

Ok, Clippers are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Didn't know that.

So maybe Lou or Deandre plays a little less. Been battling back into contention for the last 50 games and now finally eliminated, might just be running on fumes and get crushed by Jokic. Malone yelling at him "Finish them!" like it is Mortal Kombat.

edit: n/m Salt Lake Tribune said Clipps were eliminated, but they aren't.

Seen on twitter from a blue ticked box : "Ben Simmons is the first ever nba rookie to average a triple double over a 13 game winning streak"

the statpicking has become ridiculous

Triple double is the most ******ed thing in the nba and will destroy many careers like Westbrook's one because medias are sucking dicks about that stats.

Even on french TV a very respected analyst that never cared about stats has gone full ****** on triple douvles and Russell

Simmons though just seems to stack them without an ounce of statpadding

Will there ever be another 6ft tall perennial all-star/all NBA guy again or is CP3 the last one?

There will be. It's hard to imagine, but a future Curry 2.0 could be even better offensively, which would make up for the height disadvantage.

Heck, IT would probably have been a perennial All Star in the East, if Boston had kept him.

Not nearly that confident.... Ugh these next few days are going to give me a heart-attack. This is the one game they can lose and control their own destiny with at least.

Don't like this Millsap at the 5 lineup, DJA is killing them

L Will/Tobias 3/15 and Clipps only down 4

edit: 29 FTs at half for LAC, don't see that too often nowadays

Wow okc can fall to 9 if this nug score holds and they lose to rox. They should crush heat on Monday tho and would prolly still be 75 percent

Pretty crazy they're fighting for a playoff spot when you think about it. Minn just lost Butler for almost 2 months. NO hasn't had Cousins for the last 2 months. SA hasn't had Kawhi all year. Utah had Gobert miss like 30 games.

OKC lost Roberson around midseason but the rest of their starting lineup has been almost completely healthy.

Denver also lost Millsap for 44 games, Gary Harris for 11 and counting...

The Murray/Harris/anyone/Millsap/Jokic lineup only played 455 minutes and was a +13 net per NBAwowy.

Clippers Gallo for 50, Beverly for 70, Bradley for like 25

Those are some of the most injury prone players in the NBA but still....

edit: think Doc comes with Lou right here, down 11, can't let it get out of hand in a "must win" game
edit2: guess not
