LMA has been cleared and will play tonight. I'm not a fan of him or his game, but that's great to hear that it wasn't serious.

+1 to that

Since 50% of the posts are about the Seadudes: what would it take to trade for Juancho? there's some "killing time whilst waiting for the lottery EV to be finalized" chat about this on Knacks forums. Eg, Kyle O'Quinn + a 2nd rounder? untouchable asset? .. somewhere inbetween?

lol a lot (including me) were wanting Denver to trade for Willy in a package involving Nurk.

I think at this point they see him as a SF/PF/bench forward of the future, and I don't see them trading him for anything other than a package that upgrades that position from Gallo, or of course a star

The Hernangomez bro's skillsets are just so appealing in today's NBA. Willie has a very good BBIQ and from what I've seen is one of the best rebounders for his size, Juancho is a pogo-stick of energy who strokes 3's with impunity.

[edit] KOQ is a nice piece but not of need in Denver since they overpaid for Plumlee.

yeah - seemed like an unrealistic pipe dream to me, but I wasn't sure how high Denver mgmt are on him.

Agree with this. Willi also has decent post game at this point. The main criticism at as of now is on defence. But the Knicks's defensive schemes are so pathetic that it's hard to really know who, if used properly, will still not be good and who will actually be ok. Apart from Rose and melo, obviously.

+ I don't think the Knicks have anything to really improve Denver right now over future Juancho prospects at the same position. Lance Thomas would be in the ball park perhaps. Otoh, >50% of Knicks fans would be happy to trade Melo for Juancho

No, I think you can't glean too much from the numbers, in particular one's outside shooting. In his context he said Juancho demonstrated elite shooting efficiency and I think that's far from a given (as much as I'm wishing). Rookies always seem to have weird shooting years once they get into the NBA--you have guys like Landry Fields shooting nearly 40% and Gary Harris shooting 20%.

I think the numbers tell us a lot, but it's not the same numbers we'd use to judge a veteran. I'm more concerned with things like shot locations (are they shooting a ton of 3's?, eschewing at-rim attempts for midrangers?) and FTA then I would the actual percentages.

I think the Knicks just need to be patient. Trying to be too good too soon is what got them in the predicament they are in right now, but that can turn into a great amount of hope with another good draft pick.

AH, I thought you were specifically referring to the #s he used to say Murray is a bad defender. Which would have amused me given the arguments made to show that Wiggins was and will forever be a bad defender.
03-15-2017 , 06:00 PM
Actually they are different arguments. I used RPM and stocks, but I don't think you can use the former on a rookie because they almost invariably suck.

But since you mentioned it, Murray has more rebounds AND blocks per 36, and equal steals per 36 as his countryman... Not a great look when you are getting out-worked by a "non-athlete" who's four inches shorter than you

Also Jamal as a rookie has a better DRPM than Andrew despite playing a position with a worse DRPM average... just sayin'

Which active players are currently at least top 25 all time or have a median outcome of such by career end? Most interested in where CP3, Durant, and Kawhi will probably end up.
03-15-2017 , 06:19 PM
KAT is certainly ending top 25 as long as he fades injury.

Combo of WIM, skill, intelligence, and size like Duncan.

900 w Rakes is off. Tried to Venmo him $900 and his account isn't set up to accept payments or something. 100 w MJW is still on. Would entertain more sweats with regulars in the thread.

confirmed. gl

let me know if you want to do $100 no escrow for the sweat. settle via paypal/btc
03-15-2017 , 06:51 PM
I'll take Harden vs Westie for $100, same rules as above jwax. Venmo is fine with me.

Win/win for me, either I get $100 or The MASTER wins MVP.

I want Lebron @ 10:1 any takers?
03-15-2017 , 06:55 PM
is anyone interested in last longer bets for either conference? want some small sweats for the playoffs

We might want to wait for his defensive metrics to improve better than "Jahlil Okafor Level" before we crown him as a Top 25 player of all time.

Dirk's a lot better comparison imo

Centers in the top 25 include: Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Mikan, Shaq, Hakeem, ..

So for other positions you have to be in the top 4 oat in your position. Of the three you mention maybe Kawhi will get there?
03-15-2017 , 07:14 PM
I'll do 100 w Mullen and 100 w Rakes. Even money. I have RWB. You have Harden. Neither win no bet. Can Venmo, PayPal, Chase QP, square cash, etc. QTB

there's a good chance Durant makes it if GS dominates the next few years of the nba, doesn't seem very likely but who knows. There's an even bigger chance that Kawhi deserves it but never gets the public recognition.
03-15-2017 , 07:29 PM
Durant is a lock to be top 25 OAT barring injury or early retirement. The guy is going to finish his career top 4 in total points and will be drawing live for first.

DIRK's 30K didn't seem to get enough attention. If you don't like DIRK I don't like you.
