Yea, I am. They are contenders just like last year. Also, just like last year their equity relies on LeBron getting hurt.

Labron will not be the all time leader.
03-15-2017 , 09:34 PM
Yeah the problem with sorting by points at age x is that some people went to college, some people dealt with injuries etc. Not all are the same. How lebron hasn't had more than like a two week injury is just beyond comprehension

he's gonna end this season maybe 9,600 or so back. He will only need 1,600 points a season for 6 years to get there. That's only 20ppg at 80 games/year.

This seems likely but will see how long Lebron can maintain such a streak of non-serious injuries. Are we sure Lebron really wants to play in to his late 30s after starting at 18?

Also love likely to return this weekend. Larry to go to d league this weekend. He played 2 mins against the pistons. And apparently korver injury is lingering but both he and love practiced today. Seems they're getting at least a bit closer.

no we're not sure, but he's going to end up way up the list no matter what and he seems like he will keep playing as long as he has title equity.

He's only going to be ~3500 points behind Jordan for 4th all-time at the end of this season so he probably passes him at the end of 2019.

Lebron hasn't won in a while and he's getting older might not be the best player anymore starting next year
They gonna give it to him

LeBron made a team that would be battling just for a playoff spot into a legit title contender and the best team in the East.

The Spurs would be a middling playoff team without Kawhi, but he dramatically increases their title equity.

The Rockets would be a bad playoff team without Harden and are a good playoff team with him, but still have slim title hopes.

The Warriors would be title contenders without Durant. Same goes for Steph. Neither is adding a lot of equity.

Should be pretty clear that the MVP should go to THE MASTER or THE GOAT
The cavs win like 20 games without LeBron

nah, Kyrie and Love are good enough to get them 35-40 wins which is in the hunt for the playoffs in the east. Cavs supporting cast is definitely better than the Thunder supporting cast.

Doesn't seem like any team-sport-athletes, other than NFL guys, want to retire early anymore.

LeBron wins if it's the best player, or best player on the best team.

Westbrook wins if difference between wins with and wins without matter and you discount LeBron

Harden wins if you consider highest EV to win a championship difference, if you ignore LeBron.

Kiwi fits none of these categories, pretty sure he's worse than LeBron, not as impactful as Harden or Westbrook.

Basically LeBron should win it forever, but since nobody does that it probably should go to Harden or possibly Westbrook. Can't see Kawhi or Durant getting it.

I appreciate your thoughts, but the thing is kiwi is better than LeBron and more impactful than harden or westbrook.

I have it on good authority that Harden is the mvp by a fairly large margin.

Kiwi disqualified for losing to the Blazers

100%
Love and Kyrie can both up their usage too

I'm still baffled people actually think Adams, dipo, and Taj Gibson is a decent supporting cast
03-15-2017 , 11:44 PM
me too. and they just picked up taj (he is a solid addition)

i think the westbrook on/off +/- are pretty insane per lowe
03-15-2017 , 11:45 PM
heat are ridiculous. spo should absolutely be top 2 in coy consideration. him and pop.

Tier 3: Malone, Magic, Bird, Kobe, Stockton, Barkley, etc.

In fact, if we're talking about just their primes and we're building superteams then I think you can make a good case that Kawhi and Durant should go #4 and #5 all time. SF/PF hybrids who are dominant on both sides of the ball(and can play off-the-ball on O) are insanely valuable for superteams imo.
I feel like you can get the right order from those tiers, like noone in a lower tier is better than someone in a higher tier, but the tier gaps are in the wrong places. Shaq should be down in 2, DRob and KG should be down in 3, Kobe, Stockton, Barkley should be down in "4". At the absolute least Shaq has to be in 2 unless you're talking like absolute peak, he's far closer to Duncan than he is to MJ/LBJ.

Geoff, I rarely give you pro-nugs free money bets, but Den +2 is freeee. No Gallo or Wilson but clips on one of the 30 worst "schedule losses" of this season and doc has been known to either rest starters or throw in the towel early.

I thought it would be den -4ish tbh.
03-16-2017 , 01:33 AM
People dont think Magic is in top tier?

Per some dude names Dan Wilke Blake and Andre DeJordan not traveling to Denver if you can still get in.
