I don't understand why anyone thinks you can have some incredible offense running smoothly with major, major pieces that have never played in a real game together, after training camp and preseason. In the first two games. It's not doable.

marion is about as done as someone can be. pretty sure every shot he's chucked up this year has missed the rim.

also his days of being an elite defender are over

The only reason to think this as far as I can tell is if you think Chris Paul has declined quite a bit. Right? If not, do tell.

It will have to go up, but it's not likely to go up enough to make him a better fit than Waiters in their best lineup.

I mostly think he's just shook from playing with 3 stars and probably doesn't want to piss off douchebags Kyrie and Kfraud. LeBron needs to tell him to let loose

Non zero chance Blake has officially improved at all or most of the things he's been criticized for in the past + a healthy CP3 = Contender

That may be true, but it doesn't matter. Cleveland has to give more minutes to the bench (even if it is terrible). A lot more. That or lobby for a rule change next week to make each quarter 8 minutes long.

He already did that. Griffin played extremely well against good teams all of last season, even without Chris Paul. The next step is if he can be a top 3 or so player. That's the next step, not if he can prove critics wrong.

Blake's allegedly improved jumper is a very big deal, if he can Bosh it up even a little and hold people in the corner that's very bad news for the guy guarding CP3
11-01-2014 , 05:36 PM
Blake's jumper isn't even new. He was a top player last year and is again. They're obvious contenders as long as they can dodge a healthy okc
11-01-2014 , 05:38 PM
If he can get that jumper down he will obviously be elite, but he also still has to play BIG enough
11-01-2014 , 05:40 PM
I get that their bench is bad, but I'd say they are WC #1 seed favorites right now. Everybody has flaws, not every has arguable the best player at two positions.

He was very bad at catch and shoot and pull up jumpers last year

Mike miller or Shawn Marion to start depending on opposing matchup and how much u want lebron to go hard or relax on D

agreed, but he's def whined about coming off the bench before. maybe the vets can talk him into it

If he can hit a pull up jumper constantly that would be pretty insane. Catch and shoot situations are gonna make up such a small percentage of what makes him so valuable I wouldn't worry about it.

Hard to catch and shoot when you're double all the time because you're almost as good offensively as prime Amare

Hey TZ, is there a site that has data on box scores broken down by players over an entire season? I've only been able to find basketball reference's daily stats leaders, which are only 1 day at a time so to get an entire season's worth all into one excel spreadsheet would take quite a lot of time: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...y=31&year=2014
Thanks!

Edit: Never mind. Found nbastuffer.com

Don't you have to buy that? I couldn't find any, so I had to write a scraper for NBA.com

How much are they charging? It took me like 15 minutes to get all of the last years data into python/excel sheets, maybe I should get in that business.

Lol at Cavs trading for veterans. Might was well just bring Battiaids and rashard Lewis out of retirement because god forbid waiters misses some shots 2 games into the season
11-01-2014 , 06:58 PM
do people count jumpers out of the triple threat as spotups?

Well they've most the galvanizing force that was Donald Sterling. Now they just got some weirdo who expects the world of them.

Plus it looks like you can pencil in CDR for a lot of non-trivial minutes. Same to FFD when he gets back.

I think the rest of the league will gladly let Blake stand in the corner. So have fun with that.

Plus let's be real here.. They're still a bunch of whiny bitches.

Yeah, it was $57 for six seasons' worth, which is pretty reasonable. I figure if it gives me some insight for DFS, it'll be very worth it.
