Ugh. That really sucks cuz celtics St patty's uniforms are such class. These are awful.

The only t-shirt jersey that are OK are the suns. Rest are ****.

I really root for him. That injury he came back from was no joke. I still can't watch it a second time.

T-shirt jerseys are just a way to get the ball moving on ads. More surface area, more profits.

i like a few of the white shirseys. like the spurs, lakers and clips. that knicks one was pretty clean.

A few narratives seen on ESPN today - Adande slips the words "Blake Griffin" and "MVP" into the same sentence; Zach Lowe talks up the potential of the Raptors in the East. Good fodder for some debate - gut says that ESPN is pushing both headlines though.

Right now here are the public playoff forecast models...

Hollinger:
Charlotte+ (top 7) ~98%

Last spot
Atlanta ~82, New York ~12, "other" ~9

Personally I think Charlotte falls out of the playoffs just more than 1 in 50. I also would remove the others (this is Detroit, Cleveland, and Boston). I think NY is as high as 25%.

BRef:
Charlotte+ 98%+
Atlanta ~93

Only gives NY (7%) as really having any shot of overtaking Atlanta.

In the West, Hollinger:
GSW+ (locks in the Warriors) 99%+
-Has Minnesota still alive at 11 (too high imo)
-PHX is below 50% now, at 40
-MEM 63, DAL 87

Personally I think MEM is slightly more likely than DAL, largely because they're just better. But I don't know the tiebreaker or remaining schedule at all, so maybe those numbers are more accurate.

BRef:
-Have the Wolves as more dead, at just below 7
-Is more conservative with the Mavs, putting them a shade below 80
-Likes PHX more (58) than MEM (56)
-Sees only a 0.2% chance (!!!) the Warriors miss out (nearly 4x less likely of falling out than in Hollinger's sims)

Key Numbers
-Top overall seed is projected to be 59 wins (Pacers and Spurs) by BRef, 60 wins (Spurs) by Hollinger (who has MIA over IND)
-BRef has 8 50 win teams, so does Hollinger. Both have 6 55 win teams (generally the benchmark for a contender), with Portland just below @ 54 for both
-Will take 37 or 38 wins in the East (Hollinger/BRef) and 47 or 46 in the West (Hollinger/Bref)
-Both have the Wolves (10th in the West) as roughly 6th in the East

Hollinger projects...
MIA v ATL
IND v CHA
TOR v BRK
CHI v WAS

SAS v MEM
OKC v DAL
LAC v GSW
HOU v POR

BRef...
IND v ATL
MIA v CHA
TOR v BRK
CHI v WAS

Only difference really is swapping MIA or IND for 1 seed. This is obviously crucial for HCA, as I think MIA makes it if they have HCA. More interesting if they dont.

SAS v PHX
OKC v DAL
LAC v GSW
HOU v POR

Only difference is PHX instead of MEM playing SAS.

It's pretty sick that Blake legitimately deserves First Team All NBA.

Pacers vs. Knicks first-round series is what NBA fans deserve.

having this discussion the other day, what are the odds the knicks win the nba championship? is it ~5k to 1 or ~200k to 1?

Probably closer to 200k

Even if we're generous:

10% to playoff
5% to beat MIA/IND 1st rd
40% to beat WAS/CHI 2nd rd
5% to beat MIA/IND in conf. finals
10% to beat whoever comes out of the west

thats 100k to 1.
03-11-2014 , 04:23 PM
yea bobbo i will be taking the paypal transfer for that 1 dollar

Yeah and that's very generous. I think all those numbers are inflated except to playoff. This is a best case scenario.

I'm in for 5 bucks.

SOURCES have Phil Jackson with the Knicks by this weekend
03-11-2014 , 04:30 PM
ya 200k is the number i came up with.

wonder if there's anywhere i could just lay like 1000 to 1 and bet my net worth
03-11-2014 , 04:44 PM

the bleacher report rumor is saying pjax will get full control over the nyk front office, and that he could be hiring steve kerr to coach the team.
